What a great football game where there was a bit of everything. BG scored 1st possession, and immediately SD followed. BG scored again, and SD was on its way to score again, inside red zone I believe, and backup QB there a pick 6. It was a great player by defender, as ball was thrown pretty well, and he would have scored if caught. But at least 10 point turn. 22-7 half. SD had 3 TO in 1st half.

2nd half was a different story, SD showed what they can do in 2nd half. SD wasn't stopped by defense all night, they stopped themselves in the 1st half, and I believe punted 1 time all game.

At one point score was 29-14. With about 11 minutes left, SD cut it to 29-27. Then the Cougars got a stop, went down the field, and scored on a good drive go make it 33-29 with about 3:50 left. They proceeded to drive down the field and score with around we 34 seconds left to make it 36-33. Then the Bison kicked kickoff out of bounds, ball at 35. They then drive it down the field, and had a wide open pass just be overthrown in endzone. But the Cougars, fighters until the end, ran one more player to get ball at 23 yard line. They would trot out the kicker for a 40 yard field goal. This kick is up, it's it's it's, BARELY wide left. So close that nobody knew at end if it were good or no good. Think inches.

I think the Cougars may have found themselves in the 2nd half. I for one hope so. If so, just have to do that for 4 quarters.

Congratulations to Buffalo Gap on the win, and good luck the rest of the season.

Sounds like this district and even out of district will be great the rest of the way.

Luray just keeps rolling, Lee still have a few big tests, Riverheads and Luray is going to be HUGE, and playoff seedlings will be huge going forward.

And how about the upcoming game for Riverheads AT Central Woodstock. Central just put it all over Clarke tonight.

Good luck to everyone the rest of season. Hope for great games, great weather, and no injuries

Thanks for the recap! IMO, there is hardly a shade of difference between Draft, Gap, and RE Lee. Lee-Draft will be another thriller. I think by now, Luray has proven they are for real and are a notch above that group. And of course, as it always is, Riverheads is Riverheads.

Listen to game on radio sounded like heck of game Gunz. Shenandoah district is just tuff football.

I agree with what you're saying for the time being.

But I have a feeling Lee wouldn't mind seeing Luray again assuming they both make the playoffs - sounds like Lee shot themselves in the foot with 4 turnovers (2 inside the red zone) and a lot of penalties - plus their special teams gave up another touchdown on a long punt return.

Lee may not mind seeing Luray again, but keep in mind Luray fumbled inside their own 5 giving Lee an easy TD. Also Lee's final TD with less than a minute to go was on a terrible completion call. The receiver did not possess the ball to the ground(@2:39:23 mark of video below) This made the final score look even closer than it was.

Luray is a good team, and yes, they are the most physical group in the district. Their QB/Do-it-all-player Dylan Jenkins, is a special player. While I think Lee QB Jayden Williams is the better QB, Gap RB/DB/KR Rivenburg is the better prospect, Jenkins is my pick for district player of the year at this point. His leadership is the difference to me. He is the spearhead of that Luray team and gives them an edge... He has the 'it' factor you hear about but can't accurately describe. With that said, they are not a one man show and those kids just plain get after it. Their matchup with Riverheads will be a classic.

It looked like Lee dug itself too big of a hole to come back from - despite having an explosive offense, 21-0 is a big deficit to overcome.

Thanks for sharing that video - that was great!

Was it broadcast live online last night?

Just an observation after watching the video listed above, thanks again for that, Luray has a physical team for sure. I see where someone above was speaking to Jenkins being the leader on that team and spearhead for them. I think number 5 and 7 are as talented as any player in the district. I like the way they play behind their pads. Just my opinion but 5 is the bell cow for that team if I judge off of this one game. Solid performance out of Luray and no quit in Lee so kudos to them as well. Got to say that it will be tough for RH to beat either. Great to see the level of play in the district at such a high level. It will certainly help any that advance to the playoffs to compete with teams from around the state.

He can really play too, again they are not a one man show, they are a team. I was able to watch two other Luray games on hudl the other day, and after seeing 3 games, Jenkins really is a special player. He maybe didnt have the big offensive numbers yardage wise this week (especially surprising after he ran wild on Wilson on only a handful of carries) but he got first downs in crunch time, blocked like a full back, seemed to be on every play defensively, saw the end zone a few times, threw some good balls, had the big strip/fumble recovery on the late Lee drive, and really laid the wood with some big hits. Something else that impresses me about him is that he plays every snap both ways, although I think he comes off for some special teams. I don't know if you'll be able to access any scouting footage on Luray this week, but it'll surprise me if you come away thinking anyone else is the top "Dog" after checking out more action. He's the kind of kid a coach wishes they could clone lol.

That said, #40 is probably my personal favorite player for the Bulldogs. Old school hit you in the mouth kind of kid. And I'll take #5 & #7 on my team any day too.
