Here is what I have....

C-35 no.4 Clarke County Vs C-36 no.1 R.E.Lee
C-35 no.3 Central-Woodstock Vs East Rockingham
C-36 no3 Stuarts Draft Vs C-35 no.2 George Mason
C-36 no.4 Page County Vs C-35 no.1 Madison County

I think one interesting development in all of this is the potential second reound match-up for Lee. I have no clue how good Clarke County is and it's one game at a time this time of the year. With that being said...I think there is the potential for Brunswick and Lee to play in Staunton next Tuesday with a State berth on the line. If I am reading that correctly of course. I'll have to see what the brackets look like. First things first Lee needs to get ready for Clarke County on Friday night. Anyone have any info on how Clarke matches up with Lee?

Thoughts on these games?

It doesn't look like Lee should have any problems with Clarke. It wouldn't surprise me if that ended up being a 40+ differential. The Lee vs. Brunswick game should be more interesting. Brunswick just lost to Amelia by 5. Lee beat Amelia much earlier this year by 20 or so. I know that isn't always the perfect indicator but it's a start.

East Rock beat Central twice this year, once by 50 and once by 30. I don't expect much to change their. The East Rock at Amelia possibility for Tuesday could be good.

Madison and Page play a very similar style of basketball with lots of high screens and dribble penetrations. Madison is more athletic but Page is really scrappy. Page has an uphill battle but the only team I would count them out against is Stuarts Draft.

Stuarts Draft at George Mason is the most interesting match-up by far, in my humble opinion. Mason plays defense like crazy and usually has low scoring games. Draft plays wide open and full speed with 3 pointers bombing from everywhere and doesn't stress too much about defense. Can Draft wear down Mason's defense or can Mason slow things down enough to get the job done?

It looks as though the Lee/Clarke winner will get the Nandua/Brunswick winner with a state bid on the line. It sure would be interesting if Brunswick and Lee did meet in Staunton next Tuesday. Another great rivalry over the years. First things first...first round Friday.

Is anyone doing a bracket challenge or the bracket?

Clarke plays five players. Two of those players have good height. One plays offense (Good) and the other plays defense (Waters). Waters has long arms, slender build, and can block a lot of shots but is no threat on offense. Overall, not much talent. Lee can pick their score.

Clarke has a very good coach who can come up with something to keep his undermanned squad in games. CC certainly does not have a lot of talent and I seriously doubt that they can complete with Lee but do not be surprised if it is closer than many think, at least for a while.
