Originally scheduled for Thursday, Riverheads will travel to Stuarts Draft Friday afternoon, weather permitting, for what should be a most interesting game. The Gladiators are now 17-0 after their most recent win, a 12-3 road victory at Luray Monday.

Stuarts Draft on the other hand has turned its season around completely and now boasts about a 5 or 6 game win streak. Their most recent win was an 8-7 extra-inning affair at Fort Defiance Wednesday. They are not the same team that lost their first nine or ten games and to continue their streak against RHS would really make their season I am sure.

First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 on the Cougar diamond.

Postponed

Just heard that this one will be delayed until next Wednesday the 21st. Guess that means that the Cougar field needs a little more time to dry out. That delay could make this game even more interesting than it already was. If I have the RHS schedule straight in my mind, they also have games on Monday (at Stonewall) and Tuesday (home to Luray.) So, if there were to be no further weather problems, the Big Red might come into that one at 19-0, looking for a 20-0 regular season, and the Cougars might still be just as hot and eager to knock them off. Conference playoffs are scheduled to begin one week from today (Friday the 23rd) so I am sure the ADs are pulling their hair out over these weather delays, since it affects the other spring sports as well.

Gladiators get win number 18 at Stonewall

I couldn't make the trip but my sources tell me that RHS shut out Stonewall on the road tonight 7-0, to raise their record to 18-0 on the season. They now host Luray Tuesday before wrapping up the season Wednesday with the Draft game that was supposed to have been right around the corner when I started this thread. Of course the irony is that they are calling for a chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday, so that game could be in jeopardy once again.

You wanna talk about trying to get a game in......Page and Draft will try for the 7th time to play on Friday......every time they've tried to play, there's been more rain or I know one time a make-up date was set and then Draft said they couldn't the day of (sunny day).
