Sussex Vs AltaVista Sussex win easily this will be the game that proves how far of a gap Sussex is ahead of the rest 1A football (besides Riverheads I believe they are what for what) but Sussex win 32 to 12

Riverheads Vs Colonial Beach riverheads win easily also they proved last week Vs. Essex that they are for real Essex RB only had like 34 yards rushing off of 15 carries and that guy was good I know CB beat Essex earlier this season but if they played again now Essex would win that's why I'm picking Riverheads to win big 48 to 8

GW VS PM PM This will be PM final journey this season GW is out to prove they can stomp with the big dogs (Sussex and Riverheads) GW pulls away early in this one 42 to14

*UPSET ALERT* this is the game of the week out west Galax Vs. Fort I'm predicting an Upset Fort over Galax Fort is rolling right now and I don't see any reason they should stop now Fort wins a barn burn 27-20
 
I think we all know that you think Fort will beat Galax, we've all heard that it for a couple of weeks now. I for one hope you are wrong but I guess time will tell. I do think it will be a competitive game and if Galax plays like they're capable of and they can eliminate the turnovers I think they can come away with the win. Good luck to both teams and may the better team come away victorious.

I think the PM and GW game will be a lot more competitive than you predict, I have seen GW in person when they played Galax but I've heard they have improved a great deal since then. I haven't seen PM personally but I've talked to several who have and they all said PM matches up well with GW. You could be right GW might blow them away but I think it will be a tight game and the team with the fewest mistakes comes away victorious. Good luck to both teams and may the better team win.
 
Pm will be the best team GW has faced since week 4 and maybe all season no runaway here battle to the very end

I agree completely, GW has not played any competitive games since the Galax game and we all know what happened there. Lets see how they play if they get behind. The PM team is a lot like the Galax team, big and love to pound the ball. The GW defense will give up a lot of yards in this game. If PM doesn't get behind and can play their game, it should be a blowout. I said it, a "BLOWOUT".
 
Not gonna happen Fort89 I've said this for 4 years now. When GW gets beat and it happens 1 time a year early. They become the a completely different team. NO ONE and I repeat NOT A SINGLE TEAM IN 1A can blow GW out now. We have the size, speed, strength and depth to play with and beat anyone in 1A. The games GW won by blowouts wasn't because the teams were bad it was because GW is truly that good. Who knows PM might beat us if so congrats but anyone who is relying on that Galax game as something to fall back on is sadly mistaken. This is not the same team who was beat in week 4.

Same as said for PM...if we play Gap right now...we blow them out....and if PM doesn't win ...hand the trophy over to Riverheads ...
 
Not falling back on anything blaster you said yourself after loss that the rest of GW were cupcakes your words. not digging through all your post to find quote I unfortunately was agreeing with in that GW had not faced anyone at the level pm seems to be playing
 
No I said it but it was meant as cupcakes to GW. Go look at the teams that we beat records and tell how much of cupcakes they were to other teams. We can argue for a week I'm happy to. But I'm telling you and anyone else GW is the real deal this year. Everyone says oh if this or that team gets beat give to RH. Trust me GW can compete and beat anyone in 1A when they are on. That's not a knock at anyone I respect every team left. But GW will have more depth and talent than everyone left. Just ask the people who have seen us since that Galax loss what we look like now. I head this crap all year last season after Radford destroyed GW. Oh they are a joke they can't compete with the big boys. What happened? GW rolled over everything in there path after that and got best by a better RH. Same bs was said about a 6-4 Galax and everyone said I was crazy by calling them the best team in 1A but what happened? They won it all. So please think GW is only speed and no power and that we only play finesse football. George Wythe was built on smash-mouth football and nothing's changed we just have the weapons now to spread you out then smash you. But we will all see in 6 more days.
 
I didnt take it as disrespect I just think alot of people are looking at that Galax game. Yes they beat our ass but we have improved so much probably more than any GW team I've ever seen. The kids at GW are having fun and playing free that is a very dangerous thing.
 
I've been reading all of your posts and I like the fact that a lot of you think that GW played a cup cake schedule. I mean we only had 5 team's come out of the Hogo this year to make the playoffs. With Rural Retreat being the only one under 500. So go ahead and think that PM will come to Wytheville next week and just roll over GW. Everyone thinks that the three headed monster in PM backfield will destroy GW. Last time I checked only one can carry the ball at a time. And GW has some pretty good RB their self. I like the under dog feeling that you are putting in the Maroons heads. Keep it up go ahead. PM may come to Wytheville and beat my Maroons. But you guys keep telling them that they can't stop PM. What you really are doing is making them mad. As the leader of Japan said after the bombing of pearl Harbor. We HAVE WOKE A SLEEPING GAINT.

A SLEEPING GIANT that also has a 3 headed RB attack. And a 6 headed WR attack and so much more just waiting to go in. This is not the GW that alot of people are used to seeing. It should really say something when life long GW fans like Roons and myself are telling you this is probably the bet ever at GW.
 
And I should've made it clear way earlier this season. When I said cupcakes I really did mean cupcakes to GW like I said today. And GW proves that none of them could even compete with us. But to the rest of there opponents they proved to be really good teams.
 
I don't usually get in on these "discussions" because they never lead anywhere but I can tell you this much. I don't see any team being head and shoulders above the other. It should be a battle from here forth. All the teams from here on have a tough row to hoe to get to Salem. G.W. P.M. Fort Galax are all playing the best ball they have played in awhile. I know some on here think the East has the championship rounds sewed up but I think any of those four will have something to say about that. The Blues weren't supposed to go to the Cliff and get it done but they did. Just like fort wasn't supposed to beat Galax...but they did. I said it before and I say it now don't overlook the determination of some of these teams. Sometimes the will to win can be a big difference.
 
Pm has played the same competition that GW has, probably less. Pm got beat by a good gap team and GW by Galax. So throw the schedules out the window. Neither team has played anyone in the playoffs, so it should be a good game.

Put any team in the Hoge and they beat everyone like GW did. Put anyone in pm district and they roll like they did. Stop trying to make it more than what it is. Both teams played 1 good team and got beat. Make no mistake about it. Fort has gotten a lot better since both of those loses.
 
I agree that the HOGO could be alot!!! Better no doubt. And I'm glad GW is leaving it after this season. And yes Fort has improved but if you think GW hasn't improved 1000% more than they have you haven't been watching. You and I know each other very well in real life. And you saw they same game I did that night hell you stood 2 feet to my right. Can you honestly say that GW played the bet they could?
 
I should not be trying to jump into this thrilling discussion but the SOS for both teams is horrible. That doesn't tell us who will win but how many teams make it into the playoffs and such is a somewhat misleading stat but overall strength of schedule tells me more personally. I am gonna say it a little different, both have beaten the teams they were supposed to beat period. Now we will all learn which is better for 2.5 hours on Friday. And I for one am not foolish enough to think I KNOW which one will win. I think GW is a well oiled machine with tons of weapons, BUT PM poses something that regardless of some peoples opinion, they haven't faced this year. I have the Blues losing a very close game 26-20. I respect both programs and it could just as easily flip to a Blues win but what do I know, I picked Luray over Sussex, lol.

I watched GW twice this year, you beat us. Then Galax beat you. I would love to see a wythe county state title game. How much talent is in wythe county? Who else has this kinda talent?

We still here, you tell me. We lost to, GW Graham and PM. All still playing. Galax already beat you. PM may beat you and Graham would destroy you. I just dropped the mic and walked off.

I will agree on that Wythe Co is so full of talent it's not funny. And id love an all Wythe final. But to your second post I don't see PM beating us but they might I do t think Galax can do it again and yes Graham would beat us but it wouldn't be a blowout.
 
Just wanted to say that GW has played big back this year. Dakota from PH in two games rushed for I think 150 yards I know he went down in the first game but when he left I think he might of had 50 yards. The big back from marion don't know his name but he didn't get over 100 yards. Ryder from Fort Chiswell agin maybe 100 yards. I have seen the Nelson kid two years ago at Gw. He was big and strong a stud. Don't know anything about the other two. They say PM line is big well GW line is 250 or better across the line both o and d line's. And believe me they are fast and just as tuff and as good as any in 1a. Like I said PM may come to Wytheville and destroy Gw. But I myself don't think so. This team at GW is the best I've seen sense the 82 team that lost to Courtland 14 to 7 in the state title game.Hell they probably could beat that team. Anyone that has seen GW play can see just how good they are. If they come to play and play their game they are going to be hard to beat. MAROON AND GRAY FOR EVER! !!!!!!!!!!!

I was getting ready to say, if this backfield is better than '08, than they are something serious!! LOL!
 
Don't get me wrong they probably have more over all speed. But you seem to know that group so you know how damn hard they ran. This group run very hard but not as hard as 08. I will say Booger Owens is the 2016 version of Seth White.
 
Size is good and all but not everything. Over my years I have seen 180 pound tackles that dominate the line and 145 pound guard's that make the all state team no questions asked. GW will have a size advantage at some positions true but I still feel PM will have the overall team speed especially on defense to slow down GW just enough. Every team in the last 10 games has tried to stop the Blues big backs, every team has failed. They can go inside or outside. I do not mean a dominating performance although many games have been but they keeps the opponents offense off the field with those 7&8 minute drives when they want to. I could be wrong but I've been involved with football at this level for over 40 years and know what I know. Those backs come at you fast all over 210 pounds by the time you hit them they go another 3-4 yards! Two plays its usually a first down. Hurley and many other teams this season has put 8 in the box and many times 10 in the box, it don't matter they're coming. With that being said depending that both teams are totally healthy on Friday night I am predicting a 34-26 win for PM. Nelson will have over 200 yards, Cook will have over 100 as well. Good luck to both teams this week.
