In what was probably their best all around game of the young season the Rye Cove War Eagles annihilated the Castlewood Blue Devils for a homecoming treat. There were several HUGE plays by the War Eagles offense and special teams tonight. The defense looked stout as well only allowing Castlewood to reach the Rye Cove side of the 50 a few times tonight. Will Rollins had a couple of long touchdown runs on the night. One was about 48 yards and the other about 24. Peyton Darnell had two huge punt returns although the best one, a touchdown, was called back for blocking in the back. As usual, Landon Lane had a couple of touchdowns (both passing and rushing) for the War Eagles. Once Rye Cove second string was put in the scoring didn't stop. Blake Goins had two big touchdown runs as well for the War Eagles. Rye Cove is now 4-1 and faces a tough Lee High Generals next Friday night at The Nest.
