Chilhowie at Virginia High

Chilhowie jumps back into the Southwest District this Friday with a points packed game in Bristol. Virginia is 2A with a load of athletes and size. VHS is always loaded with skill players, and very capable of putting a lot of points on the board. Speed and quickness is their Forte; heck, even their water boy is fast!

Chilhowie should be able to play with the Bearcats, but VHS just may have more weapons than CHS can match. Chilhowie appears to be the Rodney Dangerfield of 1A. They are about 8 points from being unbeaten, which includes a 4 point loss to top ranked region D 2A Marion, but most prognosticators have yet to give them any luv. I look for a good game from both squads. Either team by 7.

Those Warriors are a damn good bunch. They beat GW everywhere but the scoreboard. They deserve much more respect then they are being given. They will be around deep into November.

This should be a close game. Chilwar's right though, depth and speed may be the difference.

How is Chilhowie's pass defense?

Pretty solid we took the deep once other than that they ran us underneath 1st level coverage. They are all around a very solid team good speed, size, depth ect. Just need to learn to finish.

Chilhowie played the Virginia High Bearcat tough for 3 quarters, but the Bearcats wore down Chilhowie in the second half. VHS massive offensive line along with a big stout defense proved to much for CHS. Chilhowie had a difficult time stopping VHS's QB through the air and on the ground. CHS had their chances to keep the game close in the second half, but CHS could not keep their drives alive at critical times.
With CHS driving well into VHS territory, CHS was faced with 4th down and a short yard. CHS elected to go with a pass instead of the run, which was stopped by VHS. Game over.
CHS played hard, but VHS was just too much for the Warriors to contain. 1A CHS falls to 3-3 and 2A VHS is 4-1.
