Chilhowie gets BIG win in 1A GOTW!

Congrats to Chilhowie (and our good buddy Chilwar25!) on their massive GOTW win at Patrick Henry, 42-7. I think I can safely say that Chilhowie crushed their #6 opponent....

Blaster has said all year that Chilhowie has great potential...

Uvacav, thanks for you kind words. I did not get to go to the game last night, but listened to the game on radio. I thought the game would be closer, but Chilhowie just was too strong and fast for Patrick Henry. The win moved the Warriors into first place in Region D, with one game left.
Chilhowie is doing something this year that they usually don't do.....Improve as the season progresses.
I credit the success to some very talented athletes, and good coaching. The team is still loaded with underclassmen, only 1 or 2 seniors starting.
it will be interesting just how far they can progress in the post season. CHS is 6-3, but only a few plays away from 8-1.

I'll say it now I think Chilhowie is going to be your region D champs. They are very well coached ans have great talent. I'm not sure how they will deal with Galax in the semi's yet but we will see.

I agree with Honestjohn. There is a lot of football to be played, and several teams very capable of winning Region D. In one week, it's a new season for every team that makes the playoffs. Good luck to all playoff teams !

When the schedule was made everyone talked about how tough it was, but like you said they can't help Radford and GW have stunk it up this year. They still played a good Glenvar team and a descent Northside team, Fort and they have Grayson this week. I'll agree it's not the toughest schedule they have played but it is still a lot tougher than most teams from the west.
