Indian River 2026 defensive lineman Corey Sanderlin (6-foot-0, 300) was selected the top defensive lineman. Sanderlin is not only strong but he has good moves for someone of his size. He was 2nd team All-State at Offensive line as a junior and he is a 2-time All-Region selection. Although, he is a standout on both sides of the ball, Sanderlin projects better at defensive end because of his height.

Rising junior Bowen Gottselig (6-foot-6, 260) attends Episcopal School and he earned a camp MVP award for offensive line. Gottselig will need to keep adding bulk to play offensive tackle at the next level. He was 210 before the season started but has gained 50 pounds and he has the frame to continue to add mass. Currently, he has interests from Stanford and Dartmouth. He should increase his D1 interests by the time his junior season starts in September.

Episcopal School junior Noah Baker (6-foot-3, 230) was the only tight end I saw catching passes and I think that hurt him when it came to MVP awards. Still, he ran post routes like the receivers and made plays going head-to-head against the cornerbacks.

Rivals 3-star Jaylen Burrell was one of the prospects at the You Are Athlete camp with multiple Power 4 offers. Burrell had 29 receptions for 636 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior at Westmoreland while earning VHSL 1st team All-State at receiver in Class 1. Burrell announced that he is attending St Frances Academy in Baltimore for his senior year.

Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach had three players attend the You Are Athlete camp in Baltimore and all three earned awards.

The overall top defensive back MVP award went to rising senior Jahlen Batty 2026 who consistently took on the camps best receivers. Batty was 2nd Team All Region for kick and punt returner and All Region Honorable Mention at Defensive Back. He finished his junior year with four interceptions, 14 pass breakups while adding four blocked field goals and four blocked punts.

Jason Galloway (6-foot-0, 205) was one of the linebacker who received an MVP award and invite to Houston. Last season at Kempsville, Galloway recorded 83 tackles with nine tackles for loss and three sacks. He earned Honorable Mention All-Region at linebacker.

Rob Hughes Jr has been at the last two camps I covered and he earned Running back awards at both of them. Hughes does well running routes using his vision and cutting ability to highlight his skillset. An All-Region selection at running back, Hughes (5-foot-10, 185) totaled 805 yards on 164 carries with 11 touchdowns.

New Kent lineman Caleb Holmes (6-foot-4, 255) was selected for one of the Offensive Lineman MVP awards. He performed well during the one-on-one drills winning more battles than he lost. He lined up at center and will be an interior lineman in college.

Forest Park Safety Kellen Lewis (6-foot-0, 195) started a few games at quarterback while also starting at Safety. He was selected 1st team All-Cardinal District at Defensive Back. He has good size to play Strong Safety and he has good athleticism to make plays in the secondary.

St Frances prospects

St Frances had so many prospects that I could do an entire article on them alone.

The competition for top quarterback at the camp was a no-brainer as St Frances 2027 Jaylin Solomon (5-foot-11, 180) was selected MVP for the quarterback group. Not only did Solomon do the best during the drill work, but he had the best throws during the competition phrase. He has a smooth, effortless throw and his ball placement was accurate.

I pegged St Frances rising senior Jariah Myles (6-foot-0, 206) as the Top Linebacker just from the drills and my premonition was validated when he earn linebacker MVP. He defended both the running backs and receivers like a defensive back. Schools starting with the letter C have the most interest as he has offers from Connecticut, Cornell, and Charlotte.

Other Prospects

Shemaj Henry
(6-foot-8, 330) garnered a lot of attention because of his size and the lineman from Chester Pennsylvania didn't disappoint earning a camp MVP award. He was one of the top prospects at the You Are Athlete camp. The rising senior worked out at left tackle and he was a popular choice among the pass rushers hoping to make an impression. He got his large frame in position to thwart most speed rushes and he used his arm length to keep the power rushers at bay. Henry has four offers included Syracuse, Massachusetts, Rutgers, and Temple.

The best competition Henry had was against Friendship Collegiate Edge Aleuhnwi "Obama" Bi (6-foot-3, 210) who did win a few reps in the head-to-head matchup. Bi is quick with his move inside and when going around the blocker. He has a slim frame but is fast and athletic. He might need to add size to stop the run.

Friendship Collegiate Academy Edge Sidney Catlett III (6-foot-0, 190) was one of the best players earning a camp MVP award. Catlett challenged for top overall Defensive lineman in a close competition. Catlett blew by several blockers and he forced the offensive lineman to adjust to his speed. Catlett will likely have to play linebacker in college due to his size.

I was a little surprised when receiver Jaiden Connors (PA) told me he didn't have any D1 offers. He seems polished as a receiver and someone who can help a passing offense. He may have had the catch of the day at the You Are Athlete camp with a one-handed grab for a touchdown. Connors (5-foot-11, 165) has great hands, body control and big play ability after the catch.

The overall Running Back MVP was Alijah Bah (5-foot-8, 170) from Paint Branch High School in Montgomery County, Maryland. Bah says he has an offer from Howard. I have watched Westlake rising senior Orlando Moss III I at the last two camps I have attended. He received accolades at both the Spotlight 39 Camp and You Are Athlete Sophomore Tyler Wiggins (5-foot-8, 150) was one of five defensive backs to receive a camp MVP award. The Calvert Hall was very good in the drills and had solid reps throughout the day.
