Chilhowie's number 1 sports fan past away recently leaving this small community devastated.
Mr. T.L.Sturgill, Jr will be sadly missed at CHS. His presents was always around when a sports
Game was going on.

"Junior" as he was called, was an avid Warrior. He always said his blood ran orange. Jr was an
Outstanding athlete in his own right at Chilhowie, lettering in most all men sports back in the 50's.
Jr was a fine Christian man, and along with his wife Pat, raised 4 very successful children: Mike, Randy, David, and Trish.

Mike and Randy were both good college football players. Mike and Randy taught school, and Mike
Was principal at Chilhowie High until he retired this SPRING. The community of Chilhowie will always
Have a soft spot in their hearts for Jr.

Jr did a lot of CHS sports. He filmed football for the Warriors for many years. He also used his talent
To help out the school in many ways over the years. I personally will miss Jr.
He was my first cousin, and I loved him very much.

One thing for sure: I know we're Jr is now ! He is on that football team in heaven, and I can't wait until
The day come when I join him. I could go on and on about this man that was larger than life itself,
But I bet those Warriors will give it their all and then some tonight, and this season for Jr.

Hey Jr, this one is for you, My Dear Friend

Thanks very much Blaster. It has been a very tough time for the Sturgill family, and me too.
Time heals our wounds, and Our Lord helps us get though the times that are tough.

Blaster, I wish nothing but the best for you and your Maroons tonight. Tell you kids to
Play hard, and don't leave nothing on the field.

Thanks a million, My Friend

Honestjohn, it's a new season and I wish those Rebels the best this year. Hurley should be solid
Again this year, and I Expect the success last year will carry over to this season.

I always like to see the smaller schools excell. They are always up against big odds when they
play, but I am sure they play with a lot of Pride and intensity.

I wish the Rebels the very best, and free of injuries.

Prayers for you and your community and best wishes for an injury free game this evening and into the season.. Lest we forget, sometimes this sport is about waay more than the game itself.. It takes the support and heart of the fans and community members like your friend, Mr. Sturgill to make a program successful, WIN or LOSE!!!

Same to you and yours Chilwar nothing but the best. Good luck tonight and safe travels.

HRCMSTHBOOM, thanks for your kind words about Mr. Sturgill. Jr was a fine person, indeed.
One thing I did not add was the fact that that his son Mike Was head football Coach at Chilhowie
Before he became principal. Mike never has a loosing season, and was a very good Coach. I was
Always treated as a Coach under Mike, something that showed me just how much he care for
My work for him and the kids in the program.
