I saw that Clarke put up 20 points on Cental, who seems to be a very talented football team, were these deserved points or were they against centrals backups? I'm a West Point fan and am wondering what those boys are going up against tonight.

Central didn't play any backups in their game against Clarke. If not for a kickoff return for a TD to open the 2nd half by Central, the game would have been a one score game at the end. Clarke has decent sized lines (heavily emphasized weight lifting program at the school) and physical LB's. Clarke runs the single wing offense with a 200lb RB and the wingback has great speed to the outside. Clarke has a limited passing game, but can be successful at it against a poor pass defense. Always good when teams get to play a new opponent, should be a good game tonight.

Clarke is young and play few kids both ways. Skill kids are pretty talented. Wing has great feet. TB is explosive and the QB has a good arm who can throw it. Pass protection has been the issue with the passing game. However-that probably is because over the past decade or so they haven't had to throw it a whole bunch. Don't play very many seniors either side of ball

I thought Central had a conservative game plan against Clarke. They stuffed their RB into a 9 man box for a lot of the game. They also settled for a long FG on 4th and short and punted on another 4th down inside Clarke territory.

Central is an oddly coached team. I thought they could have scored 50 plus against Clarke (once Baylor went out in the Secondary).

I thought Clarke had a fluke touchdown against Central when the Central players thought Rutherford (RB, #21) went out of bounds. Everyone let up and he took a long one in.

Baylor, #1 makes the Clarke offense go. He is shifty with great vision.
Clarke plays hard though. No quit in them.

Rutherford and Childs make that team go. Baylor is good as well but CC will only go as far as Rutherford and Childs carry them. Be prepared to play a team who plays hard every play.

I think Clarke struggles without Baylor in the mix. Defenses only have to focus on Rutherford if Baylor isn't playing. Rutherford runs over and through you, Baylor runs around and past you while leaving your jockstrap down around your ankles.

It was 10-10 at end of regulation. And Clarke had go to long ball to get that. WP dressed 17, and was without their best player. Went for 2 instead of tie and came up a few inches short. Helluva game actually. The Clarke coach had a much different opinion about our toughness after the game

I made the trip and here is what anyone needs to know. West Point is a good football team. My hat goes off to them. Their community was awesome and very nice people. Glad I made the over 3 hour trip. They had good size and their backs weighed 215-230!b each. Couple good sized linemen who could move. Those guys also played linebacker and were a handful. West Point plays hard. Clarke is undersized and young up front this year and it shows at times but the kids compete hard. Clarke has good skill kids

As for the game as I’m not sure what Coach Parker’s quotes have anything to do with anything other than having confidence in his kids. Don’t think anything was meant by it.......

Game was extremely close as you can see by the score. Clarke went up 2 scores in 3rd but had a TD called back for a crack back block. Clarke also had 4-5 drops and then misfired on a long ball or 2 that were barely overthrown. I have no idea what the stats were but I’m guessing Clarke had more yards passing than running. Straight guess (120-150). Should/could have had more of those balls were caught but that’s the way it goes. A blocked punt set up first score for the Pointsrs at Clarke 15.
Clarke answers with a bomb from Childs to Baylor. Bahamonde drills a field goal as well late in half.
Clarke didn’t play a clean game in my opinion whatsoever but it was a heck of a game to attend. Good luck to both teams next week as I wish the Pointers the best.
