Boxing and MMA are sports because it's not the "ONLY" way to win
Other requirement is everyone has to know they are playing... that rules out hunting and fishing. poor fish just lookin for some food.
Sadly, I would have to agree with you. If you're not at least third generation here, you're not a local.
This has honestly turned into one of the most comical threads ever on Preps. It has gone from a 3rd round regional game/state qtr final to bands/cheer/mma/gymnastics/figure skating etc To now talking about what is considered local and/or favoritism blah blah blah. I'm almost positive Clarke has about 3-4 (maybe more) kids starting that have moved to Clarke at some point. Coaches at every school will always play kids who give them the best chance to win. Then--there will always be some people who say the only reason they play is because of their name etc.
I used to hear all the time that a certain player who was just named all ODAC as a linebacker only played due to his name years ago. What a bunch of garbage.
As a parent of a clarke player and a long time resident of Clarke, this is a bunch of horse hockey.
I suggest the football game be discussed as the rest of this is ridiculous.

Came here to see what it is looking like for R.E. Lee vs. Clarke.
Appomattox used to schedule Lee, but this year A.D. wanted to go with Heritage. We also took off Nottoway. I think our JV won both years we played them (that would be the varsity team now) and we went 1-1 on Varsity. Liked going up there. loved the stadium in that park.

I am sure he did, I know I did, lol. It was definitely not the score I expected from either team but credit goes to Clarke for being as advertised on D. Congrats
That was definitely the most fun at a game I've had in a while. I probably aged 5 years during the game. IMHO, it should have been 26 - 7 Clarke, but Clarke had a stupid unsportsmanlike penalty after we had a first down inside the 10 and the drive stalled and went backwards after that. Lee should have scored on the 4th and goal but fumbled it on the 1.
