Clarke vs. Riverside

Should clarify as much improved discipline in regard to the continued deluge of offensive penalties. And these are experienced players committing the same penalties over and over, killing drives and keeping points off the scoreboard.

The Clarke defense has played great the entire season to this point.

As long as 11 get off the bus, Clarke will have no trouble with Riverside. I believe they are all freshmen and sophomores. But like most new Loudoun county schools, you better get them this year 'cause it will not be long before they are very good.

I wouldn't worry about getting them now either. LCPS' master plan is to have every school at roughly equal enrollment, which by their estimates puts them in 4A/5A. Riverside will be 5A within 3 years and Clarke won't have to play them. Clarke should consider a trip down the Valley to play Broadway, Harrisonburg, or Spotswood. All are winnable games worth extra ratings points.

Clarke won't play Riverside again after next year, its a two year schedule. Clarke played John Champe twice when that school opened. The new Loudoun schools that open as 3A always seem to schedule 2A/3A Bull Run schools for their first two years. But if Riverside is like John Champe, the learning curve will be steep.
