Northside looking like they'll be back in Richmond in March. Hopewell also looking like a dominating team that have all the tools to be in Richmond in March also. But it's alot of basketball to play and some good teams. Good luck.

I personally believe Northside and Hopewell to be the best two teams in C3, but Meridian's resume has thoroughly impressed me so far. I don't anticipate them having much trouble getting out of Region 3B.

3C is super deep. Whoever comes out of there will be battle-tested, Spotswood, Western, LCA, Rustburg, Wilson, Staunton...could see any of these teams making a postseason push.

Other than Cave Spring, Northside should have little trouble winning Region 3D.

New Kent has been the surprise of the year so far, but can they challenge Hopewell? That is yet to be seen.

Agree, I watched Hopewell play John Marshall and go toe to toe with them until they got in foul trouble. New Kent looks good I've seen them play but Hopewell size 6'11, 6'7 , 6'5 ,and couple of 6'4 players could give them problems. Lake Taylor and IC norcom also are also talented and have athletes. So we'll see.

I don't follow class 3 very much, but I did watch New Kent play in their tournament this weekend and while undersized, they can flat out shoot. In the game against Thomas Jefferson on Friday night, it was a two point game at the half, then New Kent hit like 7 or 8 three's in the 3rd quarter alone and ended up winning 94-76. Against a solid Hanover team last night, it was more of a slugfest, but about mid 4th quarter, New Kent got the 3 ball going again and ended up winning by 13. They spread it around too. #4, #5, and #24 all can score. #4 is deadly from long range. #1 doesn't score a whole lot, but is a good ball handler. Their one weakness, and it could definitely be exposed by teams with size, is their interior defense. They're good at the press and trapping, but in the 2 games I watched, they gave up too many easy baskets. But if they're hitting from outside, they can compete with just about anyone

First game of the season they knocked off Western Albemarle at home by 3, who is pretty massive all around. They were down double digits and stormed back thanks to the hot shooting you mentioned. Agreed a team like Hopewell that has intimidating size could cause problems but that early season win for New Kent was some good experience against a massive team.

I’ve been very impressed with Hopewell. The first half of the John Marshall game was very encouraging and they have looked very good against their other opponents.
