Lined up for what looked like a punt on fourth-and-7 from its own 49, Salem instead tried to catch Glass sleeping and passed. The throw was long and high though. Glass responded by going 49 yards on the ensuing drive to score.

Taeon Mosby on a 4-yard TD run, set up by two big first-down runs by Vari Gilbert and Mike Thomas. Two-point try is successful and makes up for the missed PAT on the last score.

Salem got an 18-yard kickoff return from Peyton Lewis and back-to-back completions to move inside the Glass 40-yard line. Two more passes fell incomplete after that, and an ECG penalty put Salem at the Glass 33. But Michael Osei picked off DaRon Wilson’s throw to the end zone.

John Wood also with a huge pass breakup on a laser of a Washington pass earlier in the series. And Sam Treacy flushed Washington from the pocket to force another incompletion.

It was a well-thrown ball as time expired, but Osei was in perfect position to preserve the 14-0 Glass lead heading into the locker room.

In the first half, Glass allowed 51 yards rushing on 15 carries (3.4 yards per tote). Salem went 5 for 10 through the air for 41 yards. Hilltoppers had 159 yards of total offense to the Spartans’ 92.

For Glass, George White is 5-of-8 passing for 35 yards. Completions by five different receivers. Thomas with 61 yards rushing on nine totes. Gilbert 49 yards on four carries, including two runs of 15 yards each. Thomas also has a TD on the ground, as does Mosby.

DaRon Wilson is 4-of-9 passing with completions to three different receivers. He also leads the Spartans with 19 yards rushing on five totes. Two other Salem rushers with 16 yards apiece.

Salem gets more rushing yards on its first drive of the third quarter than it did in the entire first half. 52 yards all on the ground after recovering an onside kick and starting at the Glass 48.

Capped by Jayveon Jones’ 8-yard TD run. PAT is good to cut the Glass lead to 14-7 early in the third.
