Conference 35

Luray beat Madison in 5 games, last game was 15-13. So Madison will travel to Greenville to face Riverheads on Tuesday. Should be a fun game.

I didnt know much about madison, but I know Luray played Riverheads very tough this year and that Luray had a very good team last year.

Madison

I believe this was Madison's first loss of the year. I have been hoping they would face off with Riverheads since about the middle of district play.

I will be curious to see how Madison responds from their first loss. They could come out and not be phased, which is possible since they will have 2 days to get over it, including 1 day of practice OR they could come out in one of the next 2 extremes: out for blood and looking to take it out on riverheads, or down in the dumps and really flat.

Should be a good game! Good luck to both sides

Luray has improved during the season, they took us to 5 games the final game of regular season and this was our only 5 game match. We scrimmaged
Madison early in the season and won but that was pre-season and I'm sure they are good with a 24-1 record. Looking forward to Tuesday.

Thanks for the details on this. If you put two and two together (this match tonight and the pre-season scrimmage), maybe that means that the Shenandoah was just a little stronger overall than the Bull Run. Still it seems a shame that the Tuesday game at Riverheads will be an elimination game between two teams that have a combined record of something like 45-1. The place should be rocking!

Shenandoah may be just a little stronger. I was really impressed with Wilson a few nights ago during the Conference Championship. They played tough for the first two games. They covered the court and moved the ball well. Saw Luray the first match we played with them earlier in the season. They have drastically improved since then. Should be a good one on Tuesday night against Madison. Good luck and Roll Red Pride!

Re: Madison

Madison sort of went away from what got them to 24-0. I hope this loss was an eye opener and not a deflator. I expect MCHS Volleyball to respond with their "A" game...anything less will surely result in a short post season. The Bull Run is not weak by any stretch but MCHS' non district schedule was challenging so hopefully they will be ready for a tough one at Riverheads.

Yeah Madison came out really flat against Luray and set into cruise
control heading into match 4 after they regained the lead 2-1. Came back
to haunt them because most of their opponents roll over at this point,
but Luray never stopped fighting. We should be able to tell from the
first set what version of Madison will show up. Haven't really seen much
play from the Shenandoah district, but Luray would have finished 2nd in
the BRD imo. Should be a great match up though, and knowing many of the
players and coaches for Madison, they were extremely mad after the
Conference 35 finals. Led by a group of seniors, I look for there to be
plenty of fireworks tomorrow night.
