on their amazing run to the "Elite 8" of the State 2A playoffs! I taught most of these girls when they were in the 8th grade and I send my best wishes as they face their biggest test of the year tomorrow at 2:00 PM in the Lady Bulldogs of Brunswick. It is a daunting task to say the least, but I do believe that our girls will play hard and play with nothing to lose and will continue to represent our school and community with class and poise and composure as they have done all year long. Congratulations and Good Luck!

And I know I said I wouldn't be posting again for a while. Circumstances dictate otherwise.

On another note: Congratulations are also in store for Coach Ponn and his Lady Bulldogs of Luray and my cousin Coach Paul Comer and his Lady Eagles (including my cousin Madison) from the Rock who will be getting the day started tomorrow at high noon in Hanover. (I know who I will be pulling for in that one! No offense to the fine folks at Luray! :) LOL!!

Would this happen to be the 2nd greatest coach of all time, behind myself, the one and only Mark V Comer?

Well said Coach!! I think Coach Owens was a great hire for Page. She and the girls have done well this year.

I've enjoyed watching them play. Page always has some good kids and this has been a very good postseason run for them. Brunswick is "the" team in the Region but every game has to be played and every dog can have its day. ;)

As a former Panther, I have had the chance to work with many of the girls also and am so proud of
the girls for a great season thus far. Coach Owens is doing a great job and has seemed to connect
to with these girls, like they say you have to reach them to teach them. Good luck tomorrow to you
all. Coach D

I'm also a fan of all valley teams and wish them well. I think we need to scrap some of these Xmas tournaments we play around here and be better prepared to face those schools like Brunswick. It would help tremendously this time of year. Or invite those teams up our way.

A very fine season from the Lady Panthers...they always played hard and Coach Owens did a fine job in her first year at Page..they have alot of talent returning next year, so, hopefully things will only get better...I really don't think anyone would have thought back in November that this team would've come within one game of going to the state tournament..GREAT JOB LADIES!!!
