In a story that proves you should never give up, the Stonewall Jackson (Quicksburg) Generals advanced all the way to the state championship game last weekend down in Salem. They were only the fourth or fifth place team in the Shenandoah District standings, they were the number four seed in the Conference 44 tournament, yet they got hot at the right time and cruised to several playoff victories and came just one game short of winning it all.
I had lost track of them after they lost the Conference 44 title game to Altavista, but after that, they won at least 3-4 more games to keep the momentum going. Great job representing the 'Doah!
