Courtland wins opener

A very young Courtland team made up of mutiple Juniors and Sophs from last years undefeated and district champ JV team and a few very good holdover seinors took down the Spotsy Knights at Spotsy 31-13. Took offense a quarter to get going, but ran ball very well up middle and jet sweeps with our new go to Junior RB and state champ sprinter. Very fast, no stoppibg him on the outside runs. Remarkably, JC has finaly made the move to insert a more agressive offense. We threw 10 or so passes, completed over half of them, bubble screens, crossing routes, etc. We have two excellent WR's, so getting them into the mix is noteworthy and the fact that both have signed offers to further thier football careers. Sooh QB played well, no mistakes, but lots to work with and grow. Caroline at the Cougars Den next game. By the way, head scratcher EV 20 Caroline 12!! Closer than most figured??

EV lost a lot. Should be a rebuilding year. King George is my preseason favorite to win the district.

They have have a good group, but won a squeaker 19-14 over Chancellor tonight. District is fairly even? JM lost a ton of transfers , EV lost alot like you said, Court is young, but real good talent across the roster, need to avoid injuries. KG, JM, and Chanc have Seinor returning very good QB, which may or may not make a difference. Watch out for my young Cougars, if JC stays true to new offensive philosophy, they will be tough, even in a 6 game schedule.

Sorry but KG and Chancellor are probably the best teams in the district. Really for the reasons you’ve already mentioned. Spotsy lost 2 big transfers in mega and Tyshaun, and the QB went out. So the win over Spotsy is like being the smartest kid on the short bus.
The senior QBs at KG and Chancellor will only get better as the season goes on.

EV loses a lot every year. It doesn't appear as if they have 2 or 3 dominate offensive players like they usually do at the moment. Time will tell.
