Front 7 is winning the LOS, making MV one dimensional. Fortunately for MV, the passing game is their strength. McGuire has overthrown a few deeps balls, one on the MV sideline that would have been six. Lafayette offense needs to keep running up the guy, MV defense is fast enough to string out the sweeps. Pine has been just off on a few passes, namely that slant in the redzone on 3rd down. Had the DB beat, could have also been six there. Overall impressed with the gang tackling by both teams. My 34 point prediction is looking pretty silly right now, lol.

Great game by both clubs. MV defense was better than I thought and our defense did well. The difference was MCGinty out as QB- Pine played well but I agree missed that sure TD pass and fumbled twice and does not run as well. But that's the game! Congrats to MV, a very, very fine team and deserving on all counts to be the winner. Time for us to start planning for next year!

Heck of a 2nd half

Both coaches were conservative first half, looked to open up more 2nd half and both teams showcased their athleticism. Lafayette held MV to their lowest point total of the year and showed heart of champion and fought hard once they got down. Rams return some very good players, moving to 4A will be a challenge, but I expect them to be competitive and win playoff games. Congrats to both teams on great seasons.

Re: Heck of a 2nd half

Lafayette was a very good team, but magna vista team speed was the difference, you could tell they have not faced a team with magna Vistas speed all Year.

Jacquez hairston... wow that kid knows how to make a play.. mv defense I thought played an awesome game.. it was pretty much like all year, they bent a little but didn't break. Rams defense was fast and tough, but in the end mv just had to many weapons.. this was one awesome team this year, very exciting to watch, and they never gave up in any of the games they play.. very proud to be a warrior!

Re: Heck of a 2nd half

I agree. Overall team speed on both sides of the ball took advantage of the space Lafayette gave them. That MV quarterback took advantage of some spots the Petersburg QB could not.

MV reminds me of the better Gretna teams. Speed kills.

Lafayette was a very tough team.

Re: Heck of a 2nd half

I thought we had in Petersburg but MV was faster and better. Our running game fizzled to nothing!

Re: Heck of a 2nd half

It was proven today two best teams in 3A fought to the finish!!!
