Does any 1A team play zero 1A teams during the regular season

Actually Chincoteague (which I don't count as a 1A because they are playoff ineligible) plays 1A Northampton on Oct. 16. They also play another 1A I don't count in Rappahannock County on Oct. 2.

Chincoteague can now accrue more points now that you can receive some for playing private schools. Does the VHSL still have the rule that they must compete in a district schedule to be eligible?

I believe so Dringtuoti. For example, Cumberland has won two games this year but refuse to play their district schedule. Because of that they are ineligible for playoffs.

Does Auburn get points for beating Roanoke Catholic?

No. Roanoke Catholic has yet to "join" the VHSL. If they do not do so next year Auburn will not and should not renew the scheduling with them.[/

Agree 100 percent , if Coach Turner stays at Auburn they need to drop them and pick up a Fort Chiswell or Rural Retreat or someone else from Hogo district.

Each private school in VA has been given a "value" whether or not they have joined the VHSL. The value is listed in the master schedule. I don't know how or if their rider points count.

I'm pretty certain they will get those points for playing Roanoke Catholic as they are listed as 1A private school on the master schedule. Here's what the handbook says:
When the Rating Scale is used to designate teams for championship playoffs, only games between members of the Virginia High School League, other public schools and non-public Virginia schools shall be counted.

I think Rappahannock County would have the fewest amount of 1A schools on their schedule with just 1 (Chincoteague). They play a couple of 2A schools and the rest are private. Bless their hearts..

But I'm pretty sure GOAT was posing this question to see if any teams ONLY play UP...lol

Private schools or teams that don't play full schedules aren't on the radar. Looking at playoff eligible teams only...
