Nobody has posted any details but I just read this score on the Shenandoah District website (well-run site by the way), so I assume it is accurate. Without knowing any details, I can almost picture the duo of Nickell and Jefferson carving up the Leemen, as they will just about everybody this year.
So even though it is early, we can probably hand the regular season crown to the Eagles and with the highest-seed-hosting format in use for the district tournament, they should waltz through that also. So if there will be any suspense to the rest of the season, it will be the battle for second place and of course for the various regional spots.
You could argue that as many as five teams would now have a shot at the second spot...... Page, Riverheads, Lee, SD, and Wilson. Of those five, Page might look like the best bet, considering that they came closer to East Rock than anyone else has, and Wilson might be the longest shot, having lost twice at home already. But the second through sixth spots could shake out just about any way.
With all due respect to the Bison, I cannot keep them in that mix because I think that four-game winning streak to open the season was just a matter of playing some very weak teams. But yet they should finish in seventh with Stonewall and Luray bringing up the rear. We will find out in 2019!
