The Eagles edged Riverheads 2-1 yesterday on what I am sure was a cold and blustery evening. I personally was not able to go, but according to media, ER won on a three-hitter, scoring a pair of early single runs and giving up one in the top of the sixth.
These two have been accustomed to tight pitchers' duels against each other over the years so it sounds as if this was another of those. I personally am not worried about the first loss because sometimes being unbeaten can put undue pressure on a team and once they lose that first one, it keeps them from dwelling on it.
So let's just move on from here and see what the rest of the season brings. I believe the Big Red travels to Page Tuesday and hosts Wilson on Thursday.
