Eastern View @ Liberty

Rough first half by Ev and a fully healthy Liberty looked dangerous but eastern view discovered their air attack tonight. I'm guessing Russell had close to 300 yards passing. Could be huge going forward if they can pass this good and get pollard back running. Overall a hard fought game between both team.

Liberty came out with the mindset they were gonna keep the ball and drain the clock. It worked they penetrated the EV defense for chunks of yards. First stop ev got was in the second half when they held on 4th down several times. Liberty got burnt 3xs for long touchdown passes one which was called back. It looked as if the refs were trying to keep ev from extending their lead there in the second half.

This is why I love the film. I felt the same way when at the game, but the refs did a better job than I thought, They missed 1 or 2 calls and a had a pretty questionable call in the game but actually made the right calls when it mattered. One of the EV WR's wasn't close enough to be on the line which gave them back to back 5 guys in the back field. I had thought the calls were illegal motion but they were illegal formation. I am very impressed they got that blocked punt called right. I have no idea what that liberty kid was thinking. On film her clearly gets his hands on the ball and basically throws it through the endzone. Even if EV recovers the ball it's either Liberty's ball on the 1 or a safety. I think he just had a brain fart.
As for the game, This is the second game in a row EV has come out slow. The offense really looked fine with Pollard out. The QB had a great game and has served notice that stacking the box will only get you beat deep. Too many good athletes to cover man on man. The WR's were open all over the place. The defense is where we missed Pollard. The DB's struggled early on covering although got better as the game went on. I thought Liberty did a great job keeping EV off balance. They played a very good first half. BUT when your playing EV you better have something in the tank in the second half because EV does not tire easily.
I'm not sure if Liberty will make the playoffs, but they were fully healthy I heard for the first time this season. They looked better than advertised and shown in past games. You could tell their QB is still getting his rhythm down. They could surprise someone in the payoffs AND as usual they are very big. What is it with that area?
This the second time this year EV has come back from 17 or 18 points down and won. That's experience to have.
Oh one other note.. EV's RB future looks pretty bright.. they are on the 3rd string kid and he looked really good! I love his hard nose, run straight at you mind set. Also, it is nice to see they can lose a starting WR and RB for the season and not miss a beat. That is a good sign for the program. Very much have enjoyed the continued building of these kids!!

Was at Culpeper game most of first half and drove to Bealeton when I saw the scores coming up. By me leaving Culpeper stadium the attendance dropped by 5% (terrible fan support there). I saw 2nd half and Cyclones offense looked good. D-line couldn't handle Liberty o-line up the middle very well. EV defense has a lot of speed on the edge though. Do they ever use any of the big nasty o-lineman on the d-line? Might have to come playoff time if they face a big o-line like they're own

I wondered that last night myself. I did see some o lineman come in when liberty got inside the 10. Definitely a different liberty team when they are healthy. If they were healthy all season it's possible they could have entered las nights game 6-1

Just so you know....there were about 10-times as many EV fans at their away game as there were Culpeper fans at their home game. I know EV is rolling pretty good...but Culpeper does still have a chance to make the playoffs. What the heck is wrong with the fans? It's not like there's s much going on in Culpeper on a Friday night. A little fan support would be nice.

Why support culpeper a losing program now when you can root for a EV team that is constantly winning... culpeper will miss the playoffs they will lose to brentsville and William Monroe most likely

You would think the student-body/parents of the players would attend the games to some degree.

Do you guys actually watch these games and what goes on? There are student supporters. No doubt and I love them. But for the majority of students, this is a social event. Not a ball game. Way more than half do not even know the score. Nor do they care.

I notice at EV the last couple years they have a designated student section that cheers the whole game. Lots of other schools do that. Its called school spirit, whether you win or lose

This is true for any HS Football game I have ever attended and always at EV. Absolutely nothing new here.

That's what I mean...you go to Culpeper and there's nothing....no student section and barely any fans at all. They have made the playoffs the last 2 years....you would think a little fan support would be in order

Absolutely right! There's no reason for that team to be 3-7 at the end of the season
OC...I didn't see the first half of this game at all, but the 2nd half the EV offense lit it up pretty good. Who is that receiver that seems to have arrived all of a sudden. I don't remember seeing him before. #25 maybe? JV move up?

Noah Proctor... He's a junior. First time I've seen him on the offense side of the ball.

Couldn't tell if he was fast or if the Liberty kid was not fast....but he sure was open a lot. Guess we'll see in the playoffs. I doubt if Fauquier or KR will have anybody to challenge the EV offense.

Not sure who he was but he did fumble a pass that Liberty scored on in the first half. Liberty controlled the clock the entire first half and EV did the same in the second half

Yeah...someone there said they thought he never really caught the ball but I don't have access to video to see that stuff. Good for him it didn't cost them the game.

It was on the liberty side of the field and It happened right in front of me and he did catch it in my opinion but he sure did redeem himself the rest of the game. Btw the liberty coaches are some sore losers they taunted the ev players the entire game

I am shocked what you say about the Liberty coaches , if Buzzo was still there that would never happen. Any chance of him coming back from Brooke OCBOY? Or his he happy at his new home?

I brought that up on here once before and I got blasted. I have my opinion on that and have a few facts as well but I think eventually he will end up back at Liberty

Do you really think Buzzo would have Liberty at 9-1 or 10-0 this year? Liberty has a tough schedule. Come on man!
Yes I do! With a healthy team and a team like last Friday's yes I do absolutely 100%. That lone lost would be woodgrove. All those other games could be wins in my opinion if 100% healthy
