It's sad on here. Region D gets NO love. Burton has won like four or five straight and Chilhowie is one of the 2-3 best teams in 1A

I think the problem with Region D, in both C1 and C2 , is that you have a few dominant teams but mostly some of the worst teams in the state too. The Scott and Lee county teams, plus Gate City are just terrible. Honaker and Hurley usually show flashes of brilliance from time to time, but both are down this year. Honestly, there's a short list of teams playing good ball: Richlands, Graham, Union, Ridgeview, Grundy, JIB, Chilhowie. Most of these teams would get destroyed in the semi-finals.

I'd argue both Ridgeview and Chilhowie are legit contenders to win state titles, and teams like Union, Richlands and Graham could make a lot of noise come playoff time.

But the bottom of 1-2D is indeed very bad. Gate City, Lebanon, etc... are pitiful
