Old school rivals about 9 miles apart, knocking heads tomorrow with the #1 seed for the Region A playoffs on the line. A NND Championship for Essex if they they win or a NND Co-Championship if Rappahannock wins and for some, bragging rights.

Common Opp:

Colonial Beach:
Essex won 32-12, Rapp lost 30-28
Lancaster: Essex won 66-8, Rapp won 69-0
Northumberland: Essex won 65-14, Rapp won 54-12
W&L: Essex won 23-0, Rapp lost the non-district meeting 53-26 but won the district meeting 26-21

Essex: District 4-0, Overall 8-1
Rappahannock: District 3-1, Overall 7-2

Some of the NND Top Players are in this Game.

Rappahannock Times Dispatch Top 5:

Rushing:
#3
Hammond (Essex)
#4 Gaines (Rappahannock

Passing:
#2
Gaines (Rappahannock)
#3 Ashlock (Essex)

Receiving:
#1
West (Rappahannock)
#2 Day (Essex)
#3 Banks (Essex)
#4 Carey (Rappahannock)

Scoring:
#1
Day (Essex)
#3 West (Rappahannock)
#4 Gaines (Rappahannock)

Although there is no top 5 list on the defensive side of the ball, best believe this game will have some of the NND’s best.

Thanks for the information. Any chance this is covered by radio or streaming somehow? I do have one question though, how are they co champions when they would have the same record but Rapp would have the victory over Essex if Rapp were to win? I would think head to head would be the first tie break. I suppose it really doesn't matter as those two along with potentially W&L are still in the discussion for meeting up on Thanksgiving weekend. Good luck to both

@RedPrideNation_RollPride If Rappahannock wins, they and Essex will end up with a 4-1 district record to close out regular season. Right now, Essex is 4-0 and Rapp is 3-1. Rappahannock fell to Colonial Beach 30-28 in district play while Essex beat C.B. 32-12 in district play.

Last year it was a 3-way tie for NND Champ. Essex, Rappahannock and Northumberland all finished 4-1 in district play. Essex fell to Northumberland, Northumberland fell to Rappahannock and Rappahannock fell to Essex.

I tell ya one thing....it’s gonna be a brutal night for everyone in the area that are going to the games. It’s been cold and windy so far today. If the winds are still around when game time comes, it could mess with teams passing game.
