Everyone playing for 2nd

They’re not playing by the same rules as everyone else. Enrollment shouldn’t matter here. They’re a recruited team playing against mid sized public school teams. Send them to C6 with teams that have equal talent across the board.
Tell us what you know about the roster. How many truly "recruited" kids? How many nonresident kids? How many kids joined upon entering or after entering high school?

tried this, LCA has lots more resources than they do. The Justice system always favor the rich and powerful.
All that does is put the VHSL(the organization) in the middle of a tug of war between its member schools and LCA and where does the funding for the lawyers come from. People just fail to ignore the practical realities of the situation and make baseless allegations as to what is actually happening. If they have a complaint and proof they should make it with specificity. If not, they should quit whining and adapt.

Heritage could upset LCA Fri. It was only a 34-27 game in the regular season.
I agree Mike but it's just gonna depend on which Heritage team shows up. Can't be the one that showed up against Glass and Brookville, if that happens it will be over quick. If they can slow Gideon Davidson down enough to stay close in the 4th I believe they will have a good shot at the W.

LCA has also improved quite a bit since the matchup back in September. I don't want to take anything away from Heritage despite their struggles toward the end of the regular season, but if they don't being their A(+) game, I don't see them having a chance on Friday.

LCA better bring their A game as well. These two teams are not strangers and are well coached. I expect a lower score and closer game this time around.

I completely agree. Some of the best games in recent years in central/southwest VA have been between LCA and Heritage. Besides LCA's 42-0 over Heritage last year, there's never any doubt that the two teams will scrap and fight for every last inch on the field every time they line up. Can't wait to see how Friday night plays out

They’re a recruited team playing in C3. Maury beats them by 4 scores. If they want to play in VHSL they should have to play up in C5/C6 given their advantage. Letting them crush small schools helps nobody

You spewed the same allegations earlier in this thread and were challenged to bring the receipts as to what you REALLY KNOW. We still await your response.

Then your kid wasn't good enough then . I know 3 kids that did because there parents told me.
Many years ago the church was able to sponsor kids, not just athletes, who attended LCA to help with the financial burden. Nowadays, that does not, and cannot, happen because that would be in violation of VHSL policy. LCA follows all member rules, policies, and procedures. On multiple occasions, the VHSL has publicly addressed the rumors of LCA not following policy and how those rumors are blatantly false.

A private school playing public schools will always be a point of contention with LCA, and frankly has been a hard pill to swallow for a lot of us in the Lynchburg area, and in Central/Southwest Virginia. But as of now, they are here to stay. As with any school, some of their sports are very good and competitive, and others are not. Year-to-year, that changes, and the football team they have will not be as high caliber once Gideon and the tackle graduate. Let's just appreciate good football while we can, and next year, we'll see how the landscape of the sport plays out.

They may follow the rules. But the reality is their "school district" from which they can draw crosses over a bare minimum of 3 school districts being that of EC Glass, Heritage, and Brookville....If you can pull from 3 or more districts, that alone is a distinct advantage. They may be pulling from more such as nearby William Campbell, Jefferson Forest and others.

LCA's "school district" is matched with Heritage High School's district. Any athlete who wants to attend and play at LCA once they are in high school, either needs to move into the Heritage district, or sits for a calendar year prior to engaging in competition.

Didn't LCA's girls basketball win the state last year with a girl from Greensboro & one from California? Both had committed to Liberty U. Did their families move to Lynchburg? I had heard from someone at Liberty that they didn't think they they had but they were not sure.

@cutnjump You've been asking for proof on LCA in too many posts. I've got time today for you big dog. You can simply look at their roster on hudl. LCA Football 24-25 HUDL Roster. Click on each athlete's profile and you can usually see what schools each kid has had hudl accounts with in past. I'll list the school that players attended prior to LCA, how many players came from that school and what year they were on HUDL roster of prior school. I see players who were at Smith Mountain Lake Christian(3 players(Aronson*, Parziale* 23), BVille(3 players (Belford*21, Collins* & Payne* 23), JF(Markowski* 23), Vermont(Maier*23), Kentucky(Tremblay*,23) Gretna (Brooks* 22).

These are just players who have roster numbers. I didn't click on any players on the roster with no number listed. Anybody can go do this same thing and see that LCA isnt' playing with a bunch of kids who grew up in the Heritage zone. They've got JF kids who want to play for Doug Jones and Jake Grove and then they are clearly getting players from out of state and other local HS as well. Whether they are "recruiting" or parents are just moving their kids to play for a great program, I can't say. But for you to sit here and act like everything is natural home grown over there, you've got to be kidding. The big Payne kid from Bville transferred in last August a few days before practice started, that was straight from a former Bville asst coach mouth. I'm from Bedford and have connections to every staff in the seminole. Football is king in Lynchburg so most coaches aren't going to cry about it, they're going to lace up and get better. I don't think LCA will have stranglehold on district forever but to act like they play by the same rules as all the publics is naive. They benefit in Volleyball and Girls BBall by having LU Commits move to Lynchburg a year or two early and transfer in. Public schools don't have this luxury. Public vs Private resources matter and have certainly stacked the deck in LCA favor more often than not.

Looking forward to a rebuttal here.

Appreciate you posting the facts, Coach. Lots of great insight. Got people on Hayfield’s tail (not saying what they’re doing is right) but LCA been cheating the game for years.

Also Amherst has a kid that was contacted by LCA recently..I talked to him few weeks ago and LCA said to his family, I hope to see you soon...The recruiting is real

Thanks for the reply one man. To be clear I never said it was all home grown. What I said was it was within the rules established AND if people had proof they should make a complaint. With what you represent here as proof have you made any complaint?

Now let's dig a little deeper as to what you allege to be proof. Last I checked transferring is not illegal as long as it is done properly and according to the rules and just because kids have a Hudl from multiple schools is not really evidence that the movement was illegitimate. Your story of the Brookville kid moving is not the first or last of its kind. Your defense that because football is king in Lynchburg so coaches are not going to cry about it is funny? I guess the Brookville coach was just sharing a story amongst friends with you? The truth likely has more to do with the fact nothing was provable, the line was not crossed and coaches at all schools are careful not to throw stones from the glass house in which they reside. You're not the only one with ties to Seminole staffs and/or multiple staffs around the state. With your experience you also know the drill. Coaches, except for the most blatant, are careful not to initiate contact and to maintain plausible deniability. There also becomes a time in the dance where the coach at the school the kid is departing reaches the decision that if the kid wants to leave that bad they should go.

To state once more, I am not for privates competing in the public leagues as I believe there are reasons related to resources and operations that give an advantage to privates. However, the rules have been established and compliance is the requirement. IF people actually have PROOF they should file formal public complaints rather than offering allegations directed at a school that they are unwilling to go to the mat for. I also believe that "recruiting" is wrong but, players/parents have the right to move within the rules if they perceive it to be in their best interests. Finally, you're right I have asked for proof on multiple occasions. Most of the claimants get quiet as church mice until they resurface later with the same claim but, still no proof. To your credit you at least offer information for discussion but, I do not believe it to be the evidence you think it to be and, if it is, I ask the question once more, why no formal public complaint?
