Everyone playing for 2nd

Then your kid wasn't good enough then . I know 3 kids that did because there parents told me.
I don't know what "good enough" is but my kid was a 3 year starter, 1st team All-State, and earned a full scholarship. If any of his teammates were sponsored by members of the church, it wasn't public knowledge and the families didn't talk about it. The school does offer tuition assistance but it is not any official sponsorship involving the church. But I get it, you are speaking from what you were told. I'm speaking from what I know.

It's a private school. It's common practice and public knowledge for private schools to offer tuition assistance. In fact, they are required by law, to offer it if they receive any amount of government funding. That's not some big secret. It's literally on every private school's website.

@cutnjump You've been asking for proof on LCA in too many posts. I've got time today for you big dog. You can simply look at their roster on hudl. LCA Football 24-25 HUDL Roster. Click on each athlete's profile and you can usually see what schools each kid has had hudl accounts with in past. I'll list the school that players attended prior to LCA, how many players came from that school and what year they were on HUDL roster of prior school. I see players who were at Smith Mountain Lake Christian(3 players(Aronson*, Parziale* 23), BVille(3 players (Belford*21, Collins* & Payne* 23), JF(Markowski* 23), Vermont(Maier*23), Kentucky(Tremblay*,23) Gretna (Brooks* 22).

These are just players who have roster numbers. I didn't click on any players on the roster with no number listed. Anybody can go do this same thing and see that LCA isnt' playing with a bunch of kids who grew up in the Heritage zone. They've got JF kids who want to play for Doug Jones and Jake Grove and then they are clearly getting players from out of state and other local HS as well. Whether they are "recruiting" or parents are just moving their kids to play for a great program, I can't say. But for you to sit here and act like everything is natural home grown over there, you've got to be kidding. The big Payne kid from Bville transferred in last August a few days before practice started, that was straight from a former Bville asst coach mouth. I'm from Bedford and have connections to every staff in the seminole. Football is king in Lynchburg so most coaches aren't going to cry about it, they're going to lace up and get better. I don't think LCA will have stranglehold on district forever but to act like they play by the same rules as all the publics is naive. They benefit in Volleyball and Girls BBall by having LU Commits move to Lynchburg a year or two early and transfer in. Public schools don't have this luxury. Public vs Private resources matter and have certainly stacked the deck in LCA favor more often than not.

Looking forward to a rebuttal here.
I wasn’t even going to entertain a reply because he knows what we all know. But thank you for spelling it out

You are entitled to your opinion but, I think your characterization as folding shows a naive understanding of litigation processes and the complexities that likely exist, particularly for a public organization, when drafting or amending bylaws and rules without potentially opening the organization to discriminatory charges.

As I inferred in the previous post, there could be violations but, those violations did not rise to an egregious level or a level that those good folks were willing to challenge, most likely due to violations existing in their own glass house. One thing I think we can agree on is we are talking about entirely different levels of violation anywhere in Lynchburg compared to the foolishness that has gone on in Fairfax County.
I'm not naive to what those processes look like. It's lengthy and time consuming process on small scale, need lots of folks thinking about all the what ifs. The VHSL was naive and wasn't prepared for a private school to pursue membership via litigation. LCA talked about it for years before they actually pursued, somehow the VHSL didn't prepare any new bylaws that would potentially prevent the situation.

I've got nothing against LCA. Rocco and his staff are great coaches and leaders of men. I just don't believe they belong in a league with all publics. They should still be in VIS. The resources and partnerships with LU can influence a ton of benefits that no publics are capable of.

Enjoyed the discussion one man. Naive may not be the best word. Maybe underestimate is a better one. We do not disagree on public versus private but, as I believe our discussion bore out the recruiting allegations are certainly not a straightforward claim as many here believe and there is not one lone ranger as some allege either.

Likewise Cut. Appreciate the convo.

You did not entertain a reply because you have got nothing as everybody can see.
They’re a recruited team spanning multiple school districts. They have an unfair advantage and it shouldn’t be allowed. My suggestion was to not ban them from VHSL play but rather send them to the classes with comparable talent.

Answer the questions asked and show what you actually know instead of pretending.
It’s wild to me that you’ve been at Hayfield’s neck but you’re willing to “stand on business” and defend LCA. @falcettik attempted to call me out as a hypocrite. @Bucktown434 wasn’t wrong at all for his views on how race impacts y’all viewpoints.

I’m humbly leaving the chat but Bucktow. wasn’t wrong 🤷🏽‍♂️

The two situations are different but, I am not surprised you do not understand nor am I surprised you are trying to make it about race.

I call it the way it is.. You’ve been showed your colors.

I’m not deep enough to hold a conversation with you.

Are we headed to another back and forth where you once again have to change your username? You are entitled to your opinions but, when you choose to debate you should come prepared to defend your opinion rather than throw out unsubstantiated claims that really just reveal your own agendas.

Most people on this board know who I am when they see me and I don’t have anything to prove to you big guy. I said what I said. You’re a hypocrite, just read the above posts and you going on and on on the Hayfield threads. No back and forth necessary.

And yet here you are going back and forth. Thanks for proving the point. Bit of advice, debate the post not the poster. See the discussion above with one man for an example.

Please don't get defensive as I was not calling you out. I simply asked why your statement about Hayfield ("I hope they make the best out of it and blow everybody out") seemed to contradict what I believe you have been working very hard to do, help young people to grow, develop, and make good decisions. I am sure you have been following this situation closely and you should be aware that there were improprieties in a lot of areas, not only social media (as you pointed out). Racism has no part in formulating my views; never has and never will. My opinions are based on ethics and facts. If I came across differently then I apologize but I was not calling you out.

You’re a good man. No offense taken, I have always respected you as a man and enjoy your posts. Just wanted to point out the hypocrisies in the two situations.

FWIW, Hayfield got what they deserved especially now that it’s been PROVEN they cheated with the recent AD stuff. We knew it all a long but needed that evidence that hung themselves.

Love what the school stands for but I do think they push the envelope on athletics.
My opinion is they should compete on the private school level since the playing field isn't level with amount of coaches and facilities they have to offer.

Classifications have nothing to do with talent. Bigger schools don't automatically equal more talent and likewise smaller schools don't automatically equal lesser talent. As a Class 2 school Appomattox between 2015-2018 had some of the most talented teams in the state, regardless of classification. They had multiple FBS, FCS, and DII players during those years. Should they be required to compete in a higher classification? The same can be said for Graham. They are Class 2 but consistently have several players with scholarship offers too. That doesn't mean they should have to compete in a higher division.

If a school hypothetically only had 100 students but they were all d2 level football athletes and because they were allowed to recruit and help those students with tuition and they could pull from 3 to 4 possible counties whose total possible students totaled about 4000-5000 kids, I still don’t think they should be a single a school just because that school only has 100 kids. In that hypothetical situation, what equaled the more talent is their ability to recruit from 4000-5000 students and help them with tuition, even if only 100 are enrolled.

More students doesn’t NECESSARILY mean more talent, but the statistical likelihood of fielding more talent is generally increased by something that could be more earnestly called random chance.

Christiansburg had a CRAZY run from 2009-2012, with 4-5 d2 and up level recruits each of those teams. But then there talent coming in organically decreased. The territory they could pull from was fixed and bound and the talent naturally came in waves.

I don’t know the in and outs of what LCA actually can do and how they get their players and total number of students. In the territories that can go to lca, what are the total number of possible students that could go there if EVERY student in those territories had the capital and access to go to LCA. And isn’t that the number we should base their classification?

Why or why not?

And could someone please answer the in’s and out’s of who can and can’t go there visa vie the vhsl rules?

But it’s also just reality. It’s what the vhsl decided. When I played, all roads lead to briar woods. Was it fair that they were a much larger school? Maybe not but who cares, no one was scared or would make excuses, that was just who was likely going to be there if we got to states, it was what it was, and lca is what it is.

Being upfront that I’m ignorant of what they can actually do or not do so I really can’t make an honest judgement on how I feel about the situation. Can someone be clear on what they can do? trying to find a clear post on this thread, but just see varying levels of heated arguments.
