Not sure if it’s a learning curve with the new staff at EV but this not the same caliber team of the past. Defense is solid but the offense is struggling moving the ball and putting up points.
That was tough to watch no matter which team you're a fan of. The fumbles were terrible for Eastern View.
Spotsylvania was also very sloppy. Coaching was also suspect for Spotsylvania especially after scoring to go up 18-10 and not kicking the extra point to go up two scores. They don't have the strongest kicker, but at least give the kid a shot even if he can barely clear the crossbar on extra points.
Eastern View showed flashes of athleticism and had a shot to win with 12 seconds left and missed the field goal wide left. Spotsylvania gave them every opportunity to win the game.
Spotsylvania is at James Monroe next Friday and have both Caroline and King George remaining. They should finish 5-5 or at best 6-4 if they beat James Monroe. They will get rolled by King George. Most likely won't be good enough to make the eight for what should be a Richmond-area heavy regional playoff bracket.
