I feel for the ADs that have to make these calls. If it has been raining hard for three days, the field is a mess, and it is expected to continue raining, then yes it is a no-brainer.
But when the rain pattern is not consistent, and there is no threat of lightning, I can see the logic of going ahead and playing on time and hoping for the best. Take last week for example..........I can't speak for everyone but the game at Riverheads seemed to have minimal impact from the rain. (Notice I said the GAME seemed to have minimal impact......the fans might be a different story!)
Looking ahead to this week, my Gladiators are at Page and that game could be moved beyond Friday without any negative impact because it is the Panthers' season finale and Riverheads has a bye next Friday. So playing this one Saturday or even Monday would not harm either team.
Personally I would like to see it postponed so that I could see the UVa game on TV Friday night, but unfortunately I don't have that kind of clout. So let's see what happens......
