I'm looking for a more competitive game this go around and I know a lot of the GW fans dont think the coach will address the blitz off of the edge but come on man. Harner will have a different game plan this go around and i think Dixon will to. If Galax can contain the QB again they should have a good shot at winning again if not we might be in for a long night. I just hope Galax got their bad game out of the way last night and come out ready to play against GW. I'm hearing Saturday at 2 right now which kind of surprises me. Safe travels to GW and their fans but hoping you go back to Wytheville with a loss and get started on your basketball season.

I place some of the blame for that blitz on the qb, and left tackle for not communicating. they should see it and slide protection accordingly. also the coach in the press box should have seen it and done the same. so maybe they will fix it

I'm sure they see that blitz again but I bet they bring some pressure from somewhere else as well. We have to make the QB uncomfortable again and contain him at the same time. Hard to beat a good team twice in one year.

No reason to think the coaches wouldn’t change up to take care of that. The issue to me is if GW is bound and determined to run 4 wides only leaving in the back to protect, he can’t double someone on the interior line. They have to have him equal depth with the QB and take the free rusher no matter where he comes from. That said Galax has a very very good front 7 so it sounds much easier than it truly is.

If we come out like we did in the 1st Q against Narrows it will be alot worse than the first meeting. If we come out and play like we did from the 2nd Q on then we have a very legit chance of winning. Last night was the most physical game ive seen GW play in a long time. If it moved and wore Green it got hit often and hard. Still saw some glaring weaknesses on our D that desperately need to be addressed. 2 of narrows 3 1st Q tds came because the middle of the field was wide open. The 1st one the kid hit the hole and was gone the 3rd one the WR went up about 5 yards hit a slant right and was gone. GW has to fix that if we go good shot if not it'll get ugly.

I would say you will not see the weaknside blitz very often. Their is a other weakness that can be exposed that I am sure the Galax staff had seen as well. I love the way he runs.... hits the hole hard,runs very hard, aggresive and doesn't mind dishing out some punishment.

I have never seen it called before, but Keaton broke loose around the end, the safety come up to make the tackle and Keaton lowered his shoulder and through his forearm up when they collided. Keaton kept going and the back of the safeties helmet hit the ground. It was a great play but they threw a flag. As far as the 2nd and 48 I am still at a loss there.

I think they called a personal foul and a hold and next thing I knew we were backed up with 48yards to go....I'm not sure how it added up to that yardage but the refs weren't very good the other night, called anything they could on us and let a ton of stuff go on the other side that should've been called but it is what it is......

I looked up neck stinger on line. It’s says they usually last seconds to minutes, but in some cases they can last hour, days and even longer. The most common symptoms of a burner or stinger include: a burning or electric shock sensation. Arm numbness and weakness immediately following the injury. The 1 and 48 still doesn't make sense. A hold Is 10 yards and personal foul is 15 yards correct. The personal foul was at the end of the play at the 20. That should of been first and 25 correct?

I did and basically Narrows kicked an onside kick to open. Got it back scored on the next play. If I remember correctly we went 3 and out the scored again. We answered pretty quickly then they got it back and scored on a nice pass they were up 21-7 at the end of the 1st Q. After that our D shut them down in every way possible they couldn't do anything. And our O was basically moving at will so we took a 28-21 lead going into the half. At the start of the 3rd we blocked a punt for a TD then on narrows following drive they threw a pick 6. It was a completely different game after the 1st Q they just couldn't move and if they did GW made them pay for it. That was the physical game ive seen GW play in 3 years. Imo narrows hadn't seen a team even close to GW and once they saw we wouldn't quick it changed the tone.

Holding is a spot foul and marked off from the spot where the foul occurred, not the line of scrimmage. It was 1st and 10 from the 48 yard line. The Youtube video (1:48.31 mark) of the game clearly shows the hold take place at the 41 or 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Add the 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct, and you get 1st and 48 from the 16 yard line. 41 yard line where the hold takes place, minus 10 yards would be the the 31 yard line, minus another 15 yard for the unsportsmanlike conduct and you reach the 16 yard line.

I will add, after watching the video, the officials got the spot of the hold incorrect. At the 1:49.31 mark, the flag is at the 38 yard line. The hold took place at the 41 yard line. I don't believe any players for either side were far enough behind the line of scrimmage to even reach the 38 yard line.

The video isn't of good enough quality to see what happens on the unsportsmanlike call. I will also say, it's the retaliation that usually draws attention from the officials. Not sure if that's the case here though.

Thank you for the offer @Optimal62, I will definitely do that. I have not been able to make the trip to SWVA to see a game for a couple of years so I am certainly overdue. I always enjoy the atmosphere and talking to the fans. I do think the game will be a good one with more than a little juice this year. But like I said, we have to win Friday night or I wont want to even say but a few words that start with the letter F and none of them are legal on here, lol.
