My guess is he's referring to Staunton River as their single wing is a carbon copy of Giles.
What are the home team designations this year for 1A and 2A? I plan to root for Riverheads and Richlands, but I'd rather not switch sides of the stadium in between games. Riverheads and Appo were on the same side last year. I remember it because Riverheads fans left an absolute mess for the Appo fans. I think they thought there would be a clean-up crew between games. There was not.
Oh and a note to first time visitors to the championship doubleheader, eat BEFORE the games. Grab a bite in town or do some tailgaiting. Salem Stadium is a great venue, but the concessions are extremely limited. There was a big discussion about it last year. It's that bad.

Not sure, but Appomattox should be on the same side as last year as I think the higher seed is the home team. I am not sure if Riverheads is the high seed.

Appomattox and Sussex are the #1 seeds left, so it would seem they will be on the home side (the side closest to the entrance)

Concessions are horrible! Trash was everywhere. I know a few of our fans asked VHSL to clean up the place in between games. It didn't bother me, but I know many was annoyed. it was BAD!
Secondly, I'm a fan of Riverheads even though I'm not a Single Wing fan. I love how Riverheads executes it. Plus, we have went to their jamboree for 4 years. 3 Ls and a tie. Great fans and nice people up that way.
I won't be at game but I wish I could feel the atmosphere. Richland gonna bring it and I know the PO1 Crew gonna be packing stadium as well. Appomattox was a ghost town last year.
The atmosphere last year was very special. I go to the championship every year, no matter who is playing. It's always fun to share the thrill of victory and witness the proverbial agony of defeat, but sitting on Appomattox's side last year, there was something extra: triumph. It was about more than winning. It was pure pride and joy. It's a shame you're going to miss it this year. Richlands is likely to give the Raiders a better game than Clarke did last year.

Richlands is the visiting team. Wearing the blue helmet (the seniors voted it over the white helmet which makes me sad), white shirt, blue pants.
I recall a team once getting so hung up on what color uniforms they would wear, they forgot they had a game to play, thus "got beat".. (college team)

I don't think the players are hung up on it. The seniors get to pick what helmet they wear this year since we've introduced a sexy white helmet into the mix. I was hoping they'd pull that one out for this game, but they voted blue. Other than that, I don't think there was any doubt of the shirt/pants combo. Richlands doesn't wear all white, so it was always gonna be blue pants.
There was a huge mess of trash on the Clarke side as well. I was told that it's because they don't have strategically placed trash cans. I say it's lazy fans. They're everywhere nowadays.

Possible but not likely, Richland will probably be down by more than 8 pts when the 4th qtr starts. Don't get me wrong Appo was the better team that warm and toasty Dec. day but not sure the final score indicates how close the game actually was. Personally I would rather take chances and lose by 36 pts that sit on the ball and run the clock so I can only lose by 15 so it doesn't look as "bad in the papers".
Down 14-0 at half and completely dominated. Appo scored on the 2nd play of the 4th quarter then multiple times after that. You CC fans need to understand that one decent quarter (3rd) means nothing. The score would have been more misleading had it not been by 36. Everyone knows it.

The obvious answer is Pioneer 101 is a female with no understanding of the game of football. If not than do what BullRun said and stop by the weight room at good ole CC. Also the FACT of the matter is if Millbrook would step up their scheduling the probably would have been a higher seed in the playoffs this year instead of a 6 seed with 1 loss, plus the most points the got for VHSL playoff seeding was from who? And my comments DO NOT represent the CLASS of CC football, just so tired of some troll from a 4A school constantly berating and putting down the accomplishments of a school half its size, and the fact that these kids put in a lot of work to accomplish what they have. Honest to God I have no idea. I don't recall ever saying anything negative about Millbrook on here at all. Heck, they're a local team, and I root for all of them except when they play Clarke. If we got into it last year, I don't remember what it was about.

rest assured ---not one thing has been said negative about Millbrook to have such behavior towards Clarke. Clarke coaches and kids carry themselves with class and have a great amount of pride in what they do. Everything they do is flat out first class from the Football Moms club to every aspect Sadly, I spoke with a chain guy from Millbrook after the Clarke game and he said the crew hasn't seen a more professional group of coaches and no wonder they are successful as the kids totally respond to them. Sad that he has to spread his hatred for no reason. He's upset that Clarke coaches/fan base/kids know they have a good program and they bust their A$$ to have one ?!?!? They pride themselves on the saying Clarke Strong ?!?!? So yes --I guess we are sorry down here in Clarke for having pride in what goes on down in regards to our program.
The constant ridicule by him is 100% unjustified and all he does is shed negative light on the school he cheers.....and that is why I encourage him to stroll on down to Berryville and look up the coaches if he has so much to say about them and the program.

Now, now. Millbrook did beat Sherando this year in a close and hard fought thriller of a game. They've got a young running back in Savon Smith who will leave jock straps laying at ankles on the field with his running and cutting ability for the next two seasons. They're getting better.
Hey Spartan, is this the same guy that was the head coach and taught at Appo in the late 2000s? I heard he was an asst at SR nowadays. He ran single wing here but we as in Seminole district during that time and got our butt kicked.
Neal Mustard runs the defense, he is from Giles. Jeremy Haymore runs the O, he graduated from SR and used to coach Appo.
Yeah, Haymore is the one Im talking about. I was in Iraq during them years, dont remember much. People reminded me of it 2 weeks ago when I went to the Rustburg/SR game.
