Has anyone heard anything at all about Giles football this year? It has been crazy quiet so far. I did read on another chat board that Giles lost to Christiansburg last Friday in the benefit game 57-0! Anyone confirm or have any preseason information on how the team looks?

Looked like mostly sophomores playing in the secondary. And they got burned a lot, and out of position a lot, as should be expected. Not much beef up front. Running backs appear to have speed, but somebody has to open some holes

We will win some games but not a threat this year at all

Giles is a couple years away from making some noise. It won’t be this year. I will say this was the best C-burg team I’ve watched since 2012. They play smart, aggressive, and have a lot of speed. I got to watch them the week before destroy Pulaski in a scrimmage. Giles will win some games this season, but we still play a pretty tough schedule which includes Blacksburg, Galax, GW, Glenvar, and a Narrows team that has gotten the best of us for 2 straight years even though they lost a lot this past season. At best we may finish the regular season at 6-4 and a Top 4 seed in 1C.

I agree...talent is young and there will be growing pains this year but good experience...and yeah we should win some games in 1A

Have you watched BBurg this year yet?

Yes I watched them scrimmage Fort Chiswell. I believe there starting QB is out. From what I seen, it will likely be another long year for the Bruins with that tough district.

Yeah their QB tore his ACL I believe in spring...we won't see him tonight...very good player...feel awful for him
