Maggie Deel scored 15 points as Grundy won the Hoopalachia Hardwood Classic with a 61-52 girls basketball win over Richlands on Saturday.
The Golden Wave trailed by five points after the first quarter, but finished strong. Grundy outscored the Blue Tornado, 20-10, over the game’s final eight minutes.
Senior guard Cassie Keene (13 points) and 5-foot-11 junior Savannah Stiltner (12 points, nine rebounds) also keyed the win.
Ericah Burton poured in 24 points for Richlands, while Ginger Short pulled down 10 rebounds.
