The top M7 team on the girls side, since 2014 or so, has been the state champion more often than not. Wise, RV (who should be very good again next year), GC, Abingdon, Union, etc. I know all the 2A teams have played for state titles in last 10-12 years and Abingdon has made some deep runs. The one year Union made the state final? A cross bracket year and they lost to Ridgeview.

None of those teams played AAU ball together & somehow magically ended up in SWVA all playing for the same AAU coach! Unfortunately, that dominance may be over next season possibly the one after that for SWVA but what a great run!
McAmis will be back next year so Central will automatically have a chance to repeat
Wise has their fair share of transfers too. Next year, 3/5 starters and their top few off the bench likely will be transfers. Looney was a Grundy transfer this year.
Luray beat GC in 2022, what other years did a non M7 team win since 2014? Wise has seven in ten years, RV has at least one and does GC have one?
