Floyd plays Gretna tonite. Winner plays the Lady Dogs tomorrow at Magna Vista.

Someone told me Gretna is "hosting" Floyd County at Salem High School ? If Gretna is host team why in the ____, is game being played in Salem ? Granted game cannot be played on home court at this point in season. Salem is closer to Floyd than it is Gretna. It appears Gretna got shafted, with site location.

I was told no Pittsylvania County school can host a regional game at this point because all their gyms do not seat enough. Is this correct? Didn't that county renovate their schools a few years back? Did they not build new gyms? Did they not renovate the existing ones? What is the capacity of a Pitt county gym and what are the requirements?

I not know requirements as per actual seating, but I do know Pittsylvania County gyms are among the worst in the state, and are not big enough to host a tournament.

This isn't true about a home court being able to host in region as we faced Virginia High last night on their court. And in Region 2D Boys, Graham is hosting and playing on their home court tonight, so it must be the seating numbers issue. As to why the game is in Salem, I can't answer for that. Isn't there a college somewhere close by?

Averett University is close by, but they would probably want too much money for rental of facility. Rumors all week had game at AltaVista, Halifax or GW Danville. Playing in Salem basically makes Floyd the "home" team.

The only gym in all of Danville and Pittsylvania County public school gyms, is G.W. Danville with a decent capacity. All other school have low capacity gyms
