Grafton is 4-0, Monacan is 5-0. Grafton rallied from down 21 to beat Tabb tonight 29-26. It's time to get some scoop on these teams, preferably without discussing their schedules.

I don't know a thing about Grafton, Lafayette should be able to give us some scoop.

Monacan has used their schedule to their advantage, for player development. Their QB is one of the best in the region. They have players that can get open, and they then have the ability to get yards after the catch. This passing game success has helped give the other aspects of their game develop. And then there is the Coach Henderson factor. Absolutely one of the best young coaches in the state. (But, what's with the ugly new haircut Coach?)

Good topic Hoos. Monacan lost some skilled position players from last years team, but seems to be getting better each week. Syour Fludd is a solid dual threat quarterback with a live arm. They have scored 55 + in three games this year. Not sure just how good their defense is, but they returned a few very good players.

They have LC Bird and James River coming up, so we may know more very soon. If they pile up points against Bird watch out.

Coach Henderson is a very good young coach and has quickly made Monacan a yearly playoff contender. His haircut is a result of a promise to shave his head if his team beat Cosby.

I have not seen much on Grafton, but a college friend of mine said they were "decent". They have Lafeyette coming up in two weeks, so we shall see.

Grafton has an excellent Qb in Moore that can pass and run exceptionally well. They also have a first class Rb in Pabon. The defense has talent in their De, Lb and safety- all college prospects. But in the Tabb game they were out gained by 100 yards and total offense was about 260. If not for a Ko return by the Qb and punt block for a Td, they would not be 4-0. There were also 2 4th Q highly questionable no calls on pass interference against Grafton that snuffed Tabb out deep in Grafton territory late in the game. Based on overall performance Tabb actually had the upper hand but lost on the scoreboard due to special teams. Both are solid running and passing.

We have them at home in 2 weeks. The only downside for Lafayette yesterday was Kyle Johnson, one of our 2 top Rb went out with an ankle injury in Q 2 and was on crutches on the sideline for the 2 nd half. Do not know how serious. Not big deal this week or next (0-4 York) but needed the rest of the way.

Not sure about Grafton... But Monacan should be undefeated at this point..and they are convincingly. Agree that coach Henderson is an excellent coach, play-caller, and leader.
Monacan is always going to have a few skill players and plenty of speed. They don't have a lot of size though. Bird should be a big barometer next week. One thing about Monacan's offense is it is quick strike. They can score points in a hurry.
