Everyone but the waterboy played for Graham in this one. Graham started the game on a 26-0 run and it was 44-14 at the half. Everyone had played at that point. Cam Allen had several dunks and the full court press was in full swing. The G-Men are gonna be stout again this year....but I dont think Giles is a good team to gauge their ability from. No offense to Giles but from what I have heard they arent too strong this year on the hardwoods.

Graham 64, Giles 27

Cameron Allen was at it again.

Nine days after a starring performance for the Graham G-Men in the VHSL Class 2 state football finals, the senior scored 18 points as his school opened the hoops season with a lopsided victory.

Nick Owens (17 points) and Drew Baker (10 points, six steals, six assists, three rebounds) also had big games for last year’s Region 2D champions.

They can hammer Giles but surprisingly get beat by Princeton. I realize the football players haven't had many practices but the GMen were getting out rebounded very handily against Bluefield and Princeton. I still think they'll win district and they'll improve more and more as season progresses.

I agree. Potential is definitely there. Perhaps we will see them improve throughout the season like the football team. When they get Meadows healthy, it will help the rebounding siruation. Coach Baker will make the necessary adjustments. The football players have looked rusty and h
some players have clearly not learned the offense yet. Baker seemed frustrated against Bluefield and Princeton with players not being where they were supposed to be.

Graham is going to get tested in the upcoming Christmas tournament. Second round could see them and Radford play.

I would be surprised if Graham could beat Radford at this point in the season. End of season, hopefully would be a good ball game.

Grahams best chance against the Bobcats would be to press and get out in transition as much as possible. They need to work on their half court offense and develop more of an inside game. Very possible, however. The pieces are there.
