GW-20 GL-45 Final!

Well, I hate to be the one to tell you. I am also riversportsfan. I have 3 people in my head. No one else makes any since on here.
GW should probably finish 9-1 with a descent seed come playoff time then. Galax still has several tough games this year, Giles, Graham and Narrows come to mind right off. Yes I said Narrows they played tough against Giles. If Galax can some how beat all the 2a teams remaining ( Giles, Graham and Grayson) that will help with seeding come playoff time but that's a big IF.
If Galax can beat the 3 remaining 2A teams they will be the #1 seed. And they would deserve it 100% nobody around here plays that type of schedule.
It's okay to care...I'm not questioning that...But these ridiculous comments and chest thumping about how you've coached these kids, and your team was in the "major newspapers" are not only laughable, but it's completely making it about yourself. Spare me.
Passion is one thing...But like I said, let these kids write their own. I watched your's and Blaster's unfold from the exact same spot I watched Friday night's loss to Galax. I remember your team and the last game I saw Derrick Davis and that team play, as well as many GW teams before that and many GW teams after that. Each one had a story of it's own. Own YOURS.
I have no problem with talking GW football or even talking about YOUR story...But let these kids tell their own and don't make it about you.
And if you think those are major publications, you really need to get out more.
I'll tell you the same thing I told you when you made a long winded post on another forum a year or two ago about wanting GW out of the Hogo....I'm sorry you feel that way.
But if you feel that way about me to the point where you have to make a comment like that, then maybe I'm not the one being judgemental here, my friend.
If you didn't like my post, so what. It's my opinion, not yours. you can Not police what is said on this site. If you think you can, which you obviously Think you can, you need to think twice as well, Sir!
I have not one time made their team about me. I used prior instances to try and match what they are going through. Some of these kids may not know how to handle something like that. Some of them may not be able to go to their parents and ask why because their parents may not have played football or sports for that much. When I say major newspapers I'm not speaking about USA Today or ESPN magazine I'm speaking of newspapers around here that people normally read. These kids are doing exactly what they need to be doing and doing their own thing. If I was not of the intent to let them write their own stories then I would be down on the field consoling them and saying stuff like it happened to us too. Maybe you are taking my statements wrong and just reading them as if I was sitting over here on my phone or computer dreaming that was me on the field. I had my time. I have battle scars. I don't need to dream anymore of winning the big game. It is human nature to ponder about the past and what could have been but never will I approach one of them and say that could have been me. I work with several of the parents of kids on the team and all we talk about is the game. Never about the past. The picture is on the wall next to the gym in the school. They get their opportunity to do the same. Sorry if you think I'm making it about me but it's not. My posts are about passion for the game and my school.
That I can respect. Let's just keep it about them.
Make no mistake, I don't question your love for GW football. I'm right there with you. I have no doubt we could share a lot of war stories, both in pads and from our spots on friday nights.
And I appreciate your time as a coach in the youth programs. I've done it myself, and it was one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. Given the time frame as to when you and Blaster played, I might have even coached one or both of you at some point.
My point is simple...Let's not dial it back or take credit is all. Let's let these kids shine. They are the ones going thru it right now and putting in the work. And if I misinterpreted, I do apologize. But do unterstand that even if it wasn't your intent, it did leave it open to that interpretation, as well, my man.

Hey, my man...I have no ill will towards anyone. You and I have looked out for each other before. I know you're good people. So are these boys (yes, I said boys, because I know they're a lot younger than us lol).
Gw was exposed on a whole new level Friday. Yikes! They can move on and improve, but it will take a lot of individual commitment. I saw a backward accusation at coaching, and I call BS. That was just sloppy play. That was hubris. GW, Glenvar, Marion, and Giles are all being exposed by the ranks in 1A right now. Let's see who pulls it together...
Never is man they always come to play. RR is the one game both sides can count on for a battle.
Go to Giles and watch them and Graham should be a good game. In 1A there really are no "good" games this week.
Don't worry the same Red Team that lost in the State Championship. You will see one of us soon enough
jdickson55, like I told someone on here earlier, I wouldn't be too surprised to see any of the top 10-12 teams in Salem. A 4 loss Galax team peaked at the right time by consistently getting better every week. Unlike Xcross, I don't think we are where we need to be but we do have potential to inprove. There is lots of football before anybody raises a trophy. And I would second whoever said to go to Giles this week, I love the atmosphere there, horn and all lol.
RedPride, It is hard to tell who will be there I agree there are a lot of good teams plus plenty of football left to play. Giles is always good and Graham is the real deal this year. That should be a great game. I was only commementing on XCross he seems like he is already crowning them champions. We will see what happens when the regular season is over.
I will not say we will win it all, but whomever can beat the Red Team will have a good chance . It's a long season and ---- happens ! We have the rest of the district to get thru and get better before the 2nd season ! I may hold off a couple weeks before heading south . I like a good contest .
Giles at Galax next week should be a good one
