One of Virginia's top rising senior baseball prospects is GW-Danville's James Feldmann. In his junior year, Feldmann made All-State after finishing the year with a .521 average with 31 RBI and 13 extra-base hits. He played several positions starting the season as a catcher then moving back to his normal shortstop position. He made 1st Team NW Region as the DH.
Feldmann is 6-foot-1 and hits from the right side of the plate. This summer, he plans on attending several showcases. He is also attending the Leadership Camp at Navy in August and he's applying to the Naval Academy where he hopes to play baseball. Feldmann is also interested in Radford after attending their showcase earlier this month.

GW-Danville made their first Regional tournament in three years but they lost to Stafford which ended their season at 17-6. With most everyone returning, the Eagles will be one of the favorites in the NorthWest Region. "This year we started 5 sophomores 2 juniors and 2 seniors and we had a team batting average of .302," Feldmann said. "Next year looks promising."
