GW vs PH 2 thoughts

This 1st time GW had there way with PH basically scoring at will. Now yes PH not having Humphrey hurt there offensive output but didn't change the outcome of the game. It was 14-0 while Dakota was still in the game. GW just had and still will have to much depth and talent for PH to overcome that gap. Now don't get me wrong PH is looking for revenge and will not lay down. GW better show up and take this game from PH or we will get beat. When you are playing against the BEST player in the HOGO and imo the Best RB in 1A. You sleep you get beat it's that simple but I honestly think GW is awake now and are hunting for gold. With all of that said you know I gotta go with MY MAROONS

I noticed Humphrey had a big game against Rural Retreat earlier in the season, 24 carries, 190 yds and 2 td's, that is pretty good.

Blaster, this may be one of the saddest post I have ever made.

Blaster, Chilhowie played PH without Humphrey and it was a 1td game. PH give them
All they wanted , then some. Coach Palmer at PH has done an excellent job at PH in
Turning that program around. Of course, most folks remember the tragedy PH had to
Deal with in the death of one of their players about 2 years ago. I can not imagine how PH
dealt with that horrible event, but God always helps us in times like that, when we put
our Trust and Faith on his shoulders.

Sometimes kids can deal with issues like that, a whole better than us adults can. I commend
PH for their turnaround in their football program. Irregardless of the score of this game,
My heart still hurts for the guys at PH. There is not one Sunday that I enter my Church
Near PH, that I don't think about that young man. He will be watching the game Friday night,
But from that Big press box in the sky.

As for the game, GW should win, but a closer game the second go around, especially if
Humphrey is healthy. May God Bless both teams, and keep them safe and injury free.

Yeah he gets after it he is a stub for sure. I was talking to a friend the other day and we got on the subject of dream backfields. And I said with the group of kids this year I'd take Humphrey, Brady and Booger Owens. That would be an absolute unstoppable 3.

I think GW wins easily Blaster but you make to much of depth....Depth only plays if somebody goes down last I checked only 11 on the field at a time....

I see where you are coming from. But GW doesn't just play 11 we sub all night long. So to us depth is extremely important we use 6-7 WR a game. And in D we sub constantly everywhere from the line to the LBs and DBs.

Chilwar has see us he can tell you how much we sub. I'm not joking it's a constant from the time the game stsrts to the end. GW isn't like alot of teams where we have to play players our players 2 ways. Yes some play both sides of the ball but some just play O or D. That depth comes in extremely handy when the other team is only playing 11 like you said. When they are suckling wind we are sending in a new fresh group.

This game isn't going to be competitive, really wouldn't matter if Humphrey was 100%. GW way to many athletes and size. GW won't be challenged until they play Sussex or Riverheads. Mark it down, they will be Galax by at least 2 TDs.

My mistake. I don't believe Galax will have enough to beat Riverheads. I still believe Sussex and Riverheads are the class of 1A. GW could compete, but I don't believe Galax will.

Not sure how you say GW could compete but Galax couldn't when Galax beat GW by 25. Lol. Still a lot of football to be played and I personally don't think all of the top four teams make it to the semis. I may be wrong though. Wouldn't be the first time. Lol

GW had a lot go wrong that night (I realize that's football), but no way Galax is 25 points better. GW is clicking on all cylinders. But Sussex and Riverheads are the class so far, GW is right there though.

Any team is beatable on any given night. 1A truly is wide open this year in my opinion. I haven't seen any team on film that I looked at and said they are heads and shoulders better than everyone else. Going to be a fun next 4 weeks

I agree...I think Sussex has a tough way to go...A sneaky good Luray team...then we have Lunenburg(who we have deep history with) and an outstanding Altavista team waiting to drive down to Sussex...IF we can manage to beat Luray.

Other than Essex Riverheads wont have problems with Colonial beach or Charles City though they both are good teams I just think riverheads wins pretty easily against either team...i could be wrong. GW and Galax dont seem to have any real threats out west from the sounds of those on these message boards but im not familiar with those teams out there. So with that said...my pick out of the top 4 teams not advancing is Sussex...Im from Sussex btw but i just think the 3 teams left in our side of the bracket are the toughest and they are all flying under the radar.

This game could be a good one. But if Dakota is not 100% its going to be a long night for PH. And I don't think that he is in a interview with the Bristol newspaper they said he had to leave the Radford game several times. This kids is a stud and as he goes so does PH. I look for the game to be close for the first half than the speed and size of GW to take over. So I got to go with my Maroons 45 to 17. Maroon and Gray for ever! !!!!!!!!!!!

I agree Roons they should keep it close for a Q to a half off of hype alone. But once out lines wear on them they will wilt like last time. Dakota is on GW'S talent level but he is the only one from PH who is. And if he isn't 100% as some have said then this game will be worse that the last one.
