This game has been the one game these two teams want to win most for a while now. Each group of kids know each other and my even be related in some cases. So 99% of the time this game is close one team could field a goat and two elderly people and would still compete lol. It was even more competitive when these two shared a district with one or the other usually winning the district. In short this game is usually close and it may be again but I'm thinking one team will pull away early and keep a solid lead.
GW- We are better than we've been the past few years with weapons everywhere. All of the skill players including our QB can house it on any play. And our line play on both sides of the ball is much improved over from season past. We've been able to push opponents lines around for the most part Radford held their own. On O the holes are massive and our backs hit them with purpose and intensity. This has opened up the passing game a lot especially screens and spots. On D we have been able to pressure the opposing QB all game this is lead by a man among boys Colton Green. He will find his way in the backfield and he will cause trouble. Our LBs are quick to the ball and they hit with bad intentions our secondary is improved but it's still the weak spot that doesn't mean they're weak just exploitable at times. GW is much improved overall and should stick close to every opponent this year except maybe 1 that's Graham.
RR- This team is senior loaded and they have some MEN! They aren't like RR teams of old running the veer playing smash mouth. They seem to want to spread you out and let the weapons work and boy do they have some. Most of their skills look to be tall and quick but the RB doesn't mind being a bruiser if need be. They can match up we'll against GW but the one spot GW if far and away better imo is on both lines. RR will have to control the trenches to compete if they can do that and stop the 1 hit TD plays they can win.
With all that being said I think GWs line play and skills will be the difference in this one. I just see us having to many options to score including running the option. GW will run up the middle until RR pulls in to stop it then we'll take the top off or start throwing the spot pass and screens. I see this one being close early with GW pulling away early 2nd Q or early 2nd half.
