For one quarter of play it looked as though Lee-Davis would make it two in a row against the Hawks but the Hawks stormed back for their second victory in a row. The Hawks were actually the first to score with a Marshall Flippin 26-yard field goal on the Hawks first possession of the night but Lee-Davis stunned the Hawks early with two scores. The first came on their second play of the game when Blake Stattleman trucked it 58 yards down field to score for the Confederates. The Hawks had a bad snap on the ensuring play and Lee-Davis recovered on the 12 yard line of Hanover but the defense for Hanover held and Lee-Davis attempted a field goal but Tabb Patrick came up with the block. On the ensuring Hawks possession Sam Newsome intercepted a Cheatham pass and returned it 33-yards for a score. That put the Confederates up 14-3 with just seconds left in the first quarter.

While the first quarter belonged to the Confederates, Hanover began to take back the game in the second. It began with 68-yard touchdown drive that saw Clayton Cheatham punch it in from two yards out. With the PAT the Hawks trailed 14-10 but they were not done scoring. Lee-Davis got the ball and a huge return from William Kemp seemed to keep the excitement going for the Confederates but it would not hold, called back due to an illegal block. The Confederates moved the ball 12 yards but could not get another first down and was resigned to punt but the punt sailed over the head of the punter and the Confederates recovered it in the endzone and took the safety bringing the Hawks closer. The Hawks weren't done yet either, on the ensuing play the Hawks scored on a 44-yard touchdown drive that saw Coombs run for four yards on two carries including his one-yard touchdown. The Hawks went for two but failed to get it but they had retaken the lead, 18-14.

The third quarter saw little scoring as both teams had two possessions, the first two three and outs. It was not until there was 1:28 left in the game that the Hawks scored with an 8 yard touchdown from Clayton Cheatham, his second of the night. The fourth quarter played out similar to the third only the Hawks would score with 4:29 remaining in the game. Clayton Cheatham had a huge 65-yard run on this drive that got the Hawks near the goal line and they were further aided by a personal foul against the Confederates. It was just two plays after that personal foul that Cheatham punched it in yet again and the Hawks now led 32-14.

Lee-Davis set to receive the punt and fumbled with the Hawks recovering it. Everything was going right for the Hawks after falling down early. The Hawks only had to move the ball 34 yards and they did so in five plays, aided also with another personal foul against the Wildcats. Coombs got his second touchdown of the night from three yards out to make it a 39-14 game. Lee-Davis would turn it over one more time before the game could come to a close when Cole Bordonie intercepted a Nick Winston pass. The Hawks ran several plays with Ben Mahone running the ball and were able to run out the clock and take the victory.

AFTERTHOUGHTS
Lee-Davis got on top early but the ground game of Hanover just wore them down. Costly turnovers and penalties also hurt Lee-Davis, especially in allowing Hanover late scores. The Confederates are not as bad as their record might indicate and while the Confederates might be out of the playoffs, the future could be very good to them.
