I don’t care what prospects they have…Phoebus will be the better team this year. Simple fact is there is still no interest in playing them or any other 4A team we could potentially see in playoffs. We had a big game on the table but it just got scratched. Other things are in the works but for whatever reason people behind the scenes are making it difficult. You wellin big time homie. They got more prospects than y’all and would automatically be the best team on your schedule since you’re not playing Maury, Smith or King’s Fork.

You just be chatting sometimes dawg 🤣 Phoebus doesn’t have 10 opponents and Huguenot is playing a bulljive team who isn’t even the best private school team in Richmond. Iron sharpens iron. Kind of obvious that Huguenot is its own downfall. Should definitely be playing an elite team in their only non district game.????
I’m chatting by telling you how they’re going about planning the schedule?? There is no interest in playing another 4A team…it’s that simple. I’m not even going back and forth but that logic doesn’t even make any sense! You don’t have a game but you’d turn down a top 6 team in VA (regardless of classification) because “were aren’t playing any C4 teams”. I doubt very seriously that’s Phoebus logic. Guess I’m a weirdo for calling BS 🥸I’m chatting by telling you how they’re going about planning the schedule?? There is no interest in playing another 4A team…it’s that simple. Then don’t go back and forth. I honestly don’t give a damn. I simply told you what’s happening.I’m not even going back and forth but that logic doesn’t even make any sense! Thought Phoebus had a line it up with anyone mentality. Guess not. I think they would beat Huguenot pretty easy and get a ton of power points. So the logic seems absurd to me.I’m not even going back and forth but that logic doesn’t even make any sense! Unpopular opinion, Huguenot would smack Phoebus this year. Phoebus loses a lot from graduation but that program will still be good. Think the biggest difference is Scott will get every snap and they won’t be rotating QBs. Between Varina, Louisa, Huguenot, and Dinwiddie, Region B’s offenses will be must see TV this year.Thought Phoebus had a line it up with anyone mentality. Guess not. Who? The Falcons? Didn't they get sat in a corner by Varina last year. You know that no one is counting prospects Big Brother. Let me know when the Falcons keep the lead against the Bethel Bruins at home and go to the title game and get 12 trophies. You wellin big time homie. Phoebus has the same number of championships as Huguenot has playoff wins!Unpopular opinion, Huguenot would smack Phoebus this year. Indeed. My statement is not a diss at Phoebus. I’m just looking at what Huguenot brings back and what Phoebus brings back. Huguenot will be popular the #2 team in Richmond this year after Varina and they’ve lost very little over the past 2 years to graduation. Think Huguenot would beat them during the regular season (especially in an early season matchup where Phoebus is still gelling). Just my opinion and I’ve been wrong before.Phoebus has the same number of championships as Huguenot has playoff wins!
As far as Dinwiddie/Salem goes, Dinwiddie is the favorite in my mind. They are the home team, IDK what Salem will have on the OL/DL, and if I'm reading things correctly, Coen Logan will be transferring to St Frances.Indeed. My statement is not a diss at Phoebus. It’ll be some great matchups that’s already on the schedule of teams I follow. Personally looking forward to the Salem/Dinwiddie game this fall. I think I speak for @DinwiddieProud, @General172011 and @BleedingNavy when I say that it’s been one of the better rivalries (even though geographically may not count) in Class 4. I’m glad the two programs made it happen.
When your own city doesn’t support you it’s hard to schedule these big games people want see. Play at home then you have to split the gate with 3 other schools who don’t get half the ticket sales combined and play on the road the city won’t help with funding. It all comes down to money. This statement isn’t about the Huguenot game but more about the big game scheduling. The number of out of state teams they’ve had to turn down will surprise you. We had to play Dematha at Va Beach Sportsplex to avoid the gate split and couldn’t afford to travel…that game took forever for the school board to approve. I could go in about stories about school board’s attitude towards program but that’s a private convo.Thought Phoebus had a line it up with anyone mentality. Guess not. As far as playing another Class 4 team it’s just something they aren’t interested in. Rather play a Class 5 or 6 team if it’s in state. Call it absurd but it’s their logic. We’ve only played up in out of district games since Blunt took over. Funny thing is I doubt Huguenot would even want to schedule Phoebus if the game was on the table.
I don't know what precipitated the decision or how common "crowd control issues" are in the area, but unless I misunderstood your comment I have to respectfully disagree about this being petty. Having to move games for "crowd control issues" is not a reflection on the school system or school admin, it is a reflection on that very small part of the community that initiates the issue. With today's internet-connected, litigious society the school system needs to do all it can to protect the students, people who attend the game, and itself. It is a sad commentary on the current times. It’s beyond petty what the kids go through. Can’t even play home games on Friday nights anymore and it’s been that way for years now. I see the Springs game is scheduled for Friday 10/3 at Darling but I’m sure it will change due to “crowd control issues”.
Yes you did misunderstand my comment, but you’re on outside looking in so I get it. Nothing has happened at the games to go with your narrative. Crowd control simply means it’s too many people at the games for them and they claim they want to play these games during the day because more cops are out working in case something does happen. The main thing is nothing has ever happened to bring this about and has been going on for 5+ years nowI don't know what precipitated the decision or how common "crowd control issues" are in the area, but unless I misunderstood your comment I have to respectfully disagree about this being petty. Thank you for clearing that up, and it does seem odd that the administration would not welcome a large crowd for the gate and team support.Yes you did misunderstand my comment, but you’re on outside looking in so I get it. In fact there were several fights at another school in the city games to the point they made it mandatory to have an adult with the kids to get into the games for that school….and those games still took place on Fridays.
Or, the Phoebus AD should reach out to Oscar Smith and ask them for the school's contact with ESPN. ESPN had this affection for OS for a few years it seemed. Almost like OS was the only high school in Virginia. And since everyone seems to know everyone in the industry, it should be an easy phone call to make.Your AD should reach out to a promoter. Last year, I think it was Benedictine (GA) that backed out of a game against Archbishop Moeller, there was some type of scheduling conflict, or something, point being Moeller didn't have anyone to play, the promoter was on the hook for some money. Mallard Creek took it. Just a one off. I don't know how much they made. But I bet it was more than enough to cover the trip. They also have some type of deal with UA where they get a game like that every year.
Maybe if some of the home fans would stop sitting on the side of the visitors during these types of games and talking trash, there would be less "crowd control issues" to worry about.it’s so bad with school system/decision makers and Phoebus they would block those games too I’m sure. They had a promoter for the Dematha game in 2013 and it was hell getting it approved. But i will definitely put that bug in a coach’s ear and get feedback.

ESPN was in love with Smith because they were the top program in top classification at the time.Or, the Phoebus AD should reach out to Oscar Smith and ask them for the school's contact with ESPN. I would contact ESPN's contact to try to get an early season/pre-CFB season game on their air. Even if it's on ESPN+, the network will be looking to add programming especially when nothing else is on.
That way one of the non-district games is already taken care of if you can get a deal done. But this needs to be done early such as the Spring. Too late to do something this time of year.
I see you skipped the post where i clearly explained the crowd control issue…I actually enjoy when the opposing team fans sit on our side. Great convos. A couple of Varina fans sat by me at the state game and it was a nice back and forth; especially in that minute span when Varina took the lead and Phoebus took it right back. Actually look forward to running into them again in December hopefully.Maybe if some of the home fans would stop sitting on the side of the visitors during these types of games and talking trash, there would be less "crowd control issues" to worry about.
Just something we’ve had to accept. I know a couple parents work schedules did not allow them to get to many games unfortunately.Thank you for clearing that up, and it does seem odd that the administration would not welcome a large crowd for the gate and team support.
