Clinging to a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the 7th, the Generals Colton Harlow fanned 6 batters, but 3 of them reached on unsecured 3rd strikes, leading to the tying run. SJ but up 3 in the 8th, the Hornets got one back, but left the bases loaded as the Gens held on for the 10-8 win.

I read about this! How wild! Wonder if that statistic (6 strikeouts in one inning) is any kind of record? Of course do they really go down in the record books as actual strike-outs or do only three of them officially count?

They all count...but in talking to the head coach, there was actually 5 Ks and a high ball four sandwiched in there that went to the screen, so it was a walk...in the mess the scorekeeper thought the batter swung. Nevertheless, still wild.
BTW, when or if ever has Riverheads been 8-0 to start a baseball season??

Sorry, can't help you with that one because I have never kept up with baseball to the degree that I do football and basketball. But my best guess would be to say that they probably have not ever started off that strong, because their success in baseball had been somewhat scattered and limited until the last decade or so.
