This story has many legs and just when you think its over, here comes another turn.I would hate this if I had any skin in it but as an outside observer I'm fascinated by how this process has played out.
And they should....It’s become an internal Fairfax issue more than anything else. Those coaches & players within FCPS that tried to engage within the boundaries of the rules aren’t OK with their division leadership playing favorites like this. Someone is going to end up losing their job over this situation.
I think they’ve made more enemies with Twitter fingers than anything and the constantly poking the bear is biting them in the tail. Sure a lot of stuff has been deleted for CYA purposes (if they’re that smart it would be).. After that decision was overturned, the “coaches” should’ve deactivated social media. I see a bunch of selfish and egotistical dudes who are about look at me rather than it being about the kids. It’s become an internal Fairfax issue more than anything else. That was exactly what I was thinking this morning. You boycott, you make it easier on them. But if the 6C teams boycott won’t they just push Hayfield to state semis. This situation is out of hand.
Great post sir. I had this conversation with a co-worker this morning at my 9-5. What is being lost in this day and age of getting kids to the next level is making sure these young men get the life lessons from football that we always heard were the cornerstone of not just football but all sports. In this day and age of everyone wanting to get theirs, that is being lost and it is sad.I think they’ve made more enemies with Twitter fingers than anything and the constantly poking the bear is biting them in the tail. My statement remains. We need real men leading our kids man. We need fathers at home, we need real men leading our young men for this jacked up world we live in. I truly feel bad for the kids who saw Hayfield as a meal ticket out and are now caught up in this mess.
The grandstanding, poking the eyes of your detractors, maintaining that constant, offensive, arrogant demeanor on social media by the adults is a grotesque display. Someone has to be the leader, show the way, teach civility and a socially acceptable skillset. There were questions, it appeared they were answered. Publicly acknowledge the team completed their due diligence, met the requests, everyone was legit, then BE BETTER. The chirping on social media, doesn't help anyone associated in this predicament.I think they’ve made more enemies with Twitter fingers than anything and the constantly poking the bear is biting them in the tail.
