The host Hurricanes won the Heritage Team Camp held in Newport News, VA this past weekend, edging Landstown 33-30 in the Championship.
Coach Mike Gardner's Hurricanes defeated Kellam and Menchville to reach the Championship game. Landstown beat Grafton and Lakeland during tourney play on Sunday.
Heritage, which two seasons ago was ranked #1 in Group 4A in the preseason, graduated its top two scorers from last season in Romello Anderson and Marcus Vanhook. Class of 2017 forward Leland Richardson leads the way as a double-double candidate on the front-court. Other key contributors include Mike Cunningham, Darius Huff, Seneca Woods and Eliezer Rudolph.
