What do you guys make of this game? Any chance LD can hang around with the Springers or pull an upset. I haven't seen them at all except on a few highlights. I hear they have a huge line and can grind you to death.

Springs just came off of a solid win against a good Riverbend team who also played Manchester tough. What does Riverbend get for all their hard work? A first class ticket to Colonial Forge!

I think that if Lee Davis is ever going to get HSHS it has to be this year.

Anybody calling for an upset?

This game should be interesting. I've heard chatter that LD is licking their chops and are going to pound us to death old school style.
So far we've handled size pretty well. Even though it hasn't been easy. LD hasn't played a good team for 4 quarters yet. HS has.
I know this, HS better cut down on the silly penalties and start playing a more disciplined way!

They've played Godwin, Freeman and Glen Allen. Won all 3
HS played Hermitage, Woodside, MBK, Riverbend.
Freeman isn't as strong as previous 2 years, Godwin and GA....
Herm squeaked by HS and we beat 2 very good teams. MBK is struggling.
The way I see it, LD hasn't really been tested. HS has already been battle tested!
I think HS will be ready for the challenge.
LD will too, but HS has too many weapons on offense and sports a darn good defense too!

HS should beat L-D, but it wouldn't be crazy if L-D pulled it off. I do agree that HS has been tested while L-D has not.

I do agree! This game does make me nervous, because it IS possible! They certainly can not be taken lightly! Springers have a target on their back now. Everybody wants a chance to take the 2X Defending Champs down!

I have the same feelings about this game that I did about HSHS/Riverbend (which was VERY wrong, lol) but I'm not afraid of being wrong, so with that. On paper, it could be a good game, but I think the Springers run away with it in a blow-out!

Especially since you have clobbered decent LD teams this year and they see HSHS winning but less convincingly. They may feel this is their year. We will see. I know you will keep us all updated.

Who is Lee Davis's tops dogs? I know they lost Nate Evans.
Lee Davis has 200 lb RB Josh Rice,
205 lb. RB Nic Anthony, 200 lb RB Zach Green
6'2 QB Zach Lass... The qb is decent, they have a huge o line and they want to pund the hell out of you with those 3 running backs, sprinkled with a decent passing game. They are big and strong.
I think LD will do what they do and make us stop it! If not, they win!
What we have to counter that is a fast and aggressive defense.
HS offense is equipped with 3 strong RBs a very good QB with multiple speedy WRs.
They too will have to stop what the Springers do!
HS will really need to cut the penalties out!!!! We should win, if we don't beat ourselves!

LD may have some early success and if HSHS can match LD early drives/scores the Springers speed and depth will have the tongues of the LD behemoths dragging in the second half.

Lee Davis is built for a slow pace and that is not in the Springers vocubulary. 28-14 HSHS.
Thinkingto last Friday against Riverbend, several of my football cronies mentioned how HS was playing. Very basic ( not showing their hand). Some thought it was intentional so when LD gets film of the game, they won't see what we do.
I don't know about all of that malarkey, but they didn't use some of the other key players as much as would be expected.
Could there be some "hidden" methods to the madness?

I think you just got forced into a dog-fight. It happens... I am sure LD will try to eliminate explosive plays just like Riverbend did. If HSHS gets off to a fast start it could be over early. But if it is a dog-fight it could be a lot closer.

definitely not discounting Riverbend's effort! They are definitely a good team! Big and physical too.

I think you guys are not looking at the facts.

HSHS lost to one of the top teams in the state in Hermitage, but by only 5. They then dispatched two middle of the road teams with ease, Woodside and Meadowbrook. And last week they handled a rugged Riverbend team.

L-D beat Godwin, Freeman, and Glen Allen.

Nothing against L-D, but they have proven nothing so far.

"HSHS lost to one of the top teams in the state in Hermitage, but by only 5." ...and put together a 1 minute drive (aided by a couple of Herm penalties) that drove HS to a 1st &goal at the 5 yd line with about :10 left. Had it not been for an errant pass and the linebacker in the right place at the right time. We were poised to win that game. We definitely want a rematch!

I am sure a rematch is coming. Hopefully at Hermitage this time. It will be another battle and the winner will be in good shape going forward.
