Highland Springs will play Page High School in Greensboro, NC, this upcoming season, September 27. Page is a member of the Metro League, class 4A. Last season, they finished 6-6 with three losses at the beginning of the season, after forfeiting, having used an ineligible player. They lost to Porter Ridge, in 4A last season, 28-27 in the playoffs.

In 2017, they finished 11-2 losing to Mallard Creek in the playoffs 9-5
In 2016 they went 14-2, losing to Wake Forest in the state title game 29-0.
In 2015, they made a trip to the state finals, losing to Mallard Creek 49-6, finishing the season 13-3.

I included the past four years as the Springers have won four straight state titles.

Marion Kirby stadium is never an easy place to play and should make for a good game between the teams.

I strongly believe that Highland Springs took on an aggressive schedule this season so they could be challenged throughout the season. As they should! Taking on Oscar Smith, North Stafford, Manchester, Colonial Forge and Page, this alone is a huge challenge. Then we have traditionally strong district foes Henrico and Varina. I hope these teams know what challenge they will have too!!!!
HSHS the past 5 years:
2014 Finished 11-1 loss to eventual State Champ LC Bird 25-23
2015 Finished 14-1 State Champion
2016 Finished 14-1 State Champion
2017 Finished 14-1 State Champion
2018 Finished 15-0 State Champion
68-4 in 5 years!!! For the upcoming 2019 campaign, HS returns all but 1 starting offensive linemen! Nearly the entire starting Defense. Upcoming Jr. QB (Notre Dame offer), Noted high caliber WRs and plethora of more than adequate RBs and DEEP with excellent talent!!! It's going to be fun!
Go Springers!!

Page definitely knows the challenge. They needed to upgrade their schedule as well. I think the Springers will definitely give them as much challenge as they want.

I remember when Todd Ellis went to Page. Attended the Gus Purcell QB School with him when we were in HS. Also in attendance at that same camp was Rodney Williams from Irmo HS who later started at Clemson.

We look forward to hosting Highland Springs in Greensboro!
...and we are excited to come to Greensboro...Folks around here are planning several road trips to support our team!! Our Marching Band will be there with us too. They are loud and proud! Us Springer Faithful travel well too!!! Good places to eat and stay near the school?

Places i would stay near the school would be:
***** Proximity Hotel
**** O'Henry Hotel
*** Battleground Inn

Places to eat near the school: Rascals Tavern, Vito's Italian, ZC Hawaiian BBQ, La Bamba mexican -- these 4 places are all in the Golden Gate shopping center a block from the school. The hotels are a bit further away

Stameys BBQ (Battleground location which is alittle further away from the school, but only 5 minute drive down Cone blvd)

Sounds great!! I'll make note of all and look forward to coming to see you! Thank you for your help!!! We're gonna have some fun down in the Boro!

Other top choices very close to the school on State Street. Cafe Pasta, Mizumi Sushi, as well as Ghassan's and Pita Delite.

Should be an excellent match up. Both teams have a ton of speed and playmakers at the skilled positions, as well as size up front on the lines. The Pirates have 3yr starters at qb and rb. The defense will be led by 3 d1 offered guys in the secondary, safety and both corners. Page is 47-10 on the field the past 4 years. Page went 9-3 last year but ended 6-6 after forfieting 3 wins for having 2 academically ineligible players on the team, neither of them saw any playing time. Page self reported. Page has made 3 trips to the 4AA title game the past 8 years - most recent appearances in 2015, 2016 & winning one of them in 2011, the schools 5th title overall.

I graduated from Hermitage in 1970 in Richmond and am very familiar with the Springers. Some of the memories not too good. Springers always have talent and speed. Should be a great game. I'll be heading up from Charlotte for that one.

This will certainly be a marquee matchup!! HSHS offensive and defensive lines were all Sophomores when they won their 1st State Title together, then they followed that banner year with their 2nd State Title.... This year brings us to this groups 3rd year together. They are used to winning. Before these years they were on JV together with HSHS!! HS's JV squads have not lost a game in 5 years! Last year's JV finished 10-0 and outscored it's opponents 536-12!! Only 1 team scored against this D!! That team score the 2 td's..... That's right, in 10 games, they had 9 shutouts! Most of those kids are now on Varsity along with the others that have now won 2 and 3 State Titles together.... They really know how to play football. They have size, speed, smarts and chemistry! This 2019-2020 team is loaded from top to bottom and are hungry to break the Virginia State record with 5 straight State titles... Only 3 Virginia teams have won 4. HSHS is one of them!!!
We are very excited to see what this team can do this year. With arguably the toughest schedule in Virginia, this team will be ready to rock & roll!!
In Highland Springs' History they have won 5 State Titles, State Runner-up 2 times and Central Region Champs at least 10 times.
