GW opens its stay in the 2017 Holiday Basketball Showcase with a 39-31 win over Dan River

Sapphire Johns picks up a game-high 14 points, while Bland chipped in with seven.

Deshazor finished with a team-high seven for the Wildcats, while Jasmine Owens put up seven
 
William Fleming dominates Martinsville in the second half on its way to a comfortable 72-40 victory over the Bulldogs.

Kensey Ferguson paced the Colonels with 19 points, while Dasmine Kasey with 17 points and Taniah Johnson rounds three William Fleming players in double digits with 18.

For the Bulldogs, Janydia Taylor led the way with 19 points and five rebounds, while LaTroya Gravely finished with eight points. Arianna Philpott had a monster game under the boards, finishing with a game-high 11.
 
Amherst wins, 58-56, over Martinsville.

Leading scorers for Amherst were Leon Carter (18), Ke'Shawn Price (13) and Thaikwon Ward with 12. Price finishes with a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Martinsville was paced by EJ Bratcher's 20-point performance while TJ Pettway chipped in with 16. Thatcher adds 12 boards to his game resume.

Martinsville rebounds with a 42-34 win over LCA to wrap up their 2 days at Averett. Now they'll play 2 more in Eden, NC tomorrow and Friday.

A surprising blowout for the previously 2-4 Warriors over the previously 7-2 Lancers.

BOYS HOOPS: A weird sequence in final minute of the 3rd. DR’s Jaylan Fitzgerald called for a foul, then whistled for a tech after apparently arguing the call, fouling him out. GW makes 3-4 free throws. Dan River 44, GW 38 — end of 3Q
