I'm from Haysi and considering the trip up Friday evening. I was wanting to know if you could give me some info of some good places to look for a hotel to stay that night. I'd like to stay around an hour west of the field just to make the drive a little shorter that evenin. Prefer a hotel like a holiday inn or comfort inn, nothing overly expensive but nothing real shabby either. Thanks for the help and look forward to seeing another great playoff game.

I'm a Gretna fan not an Essex fan but we played at Essex in the state semifinal game in 2011. We stayed at a Hampton Inn located in Mechanicsville on Rt. 360. You'll be less than an hour from King William High School. There are a number of other hotels in the area as well.

The Hampton Inn HR6 mentioned is your best bet. Its right off 360 and is only 15-20 minutes from the stadium. Fairly new hotel and looks nice from the outside. Plus plenty of food options in Mechanicsville as well. Every fast food chain, Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesdays just to name a few. Also a Wal Mart and Target and just off of Interstate 295. Mechanicsville is a nice town, a lot of chain restaurants, hotels ect. There's one really nice hotel in Essex, and would leave you with only a 30 minute drive, so roughly the same distance if you stay in Mechanicsville. Wishing you and the rest of the Haysi crew safe travels.
